George Reynolds was a general authority of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and polygamist, eventually becoming the named party to the U.S. Supreme Court Case Reynolds v. United States, 98 U.S. 145 (1878), which held that religious duty was not a suitable defense to a criminal indictment.

Not my favorite commentary. I found it to be a bit wordy in spots. I could have done without the end of book summerys. i filed this book under the prompt read three books by the same author (booklist queen 2024)
