THE PACIFIST DRAGON AND THE WEDDING QUESTThe mysterious man called Magna continues to hound Loren and his companions, who've had enough. Seeking to put a stop to him once and for all, they go digging in the ruins of the ancient magical empire. An ancient dragon might just have the information they seek, but first, they have to help a fellow mercenary...get hitched?! By letting her join them on their quest?!
A bit tame compared to other volumes in this series, but that is not saying much since there still have been villages exterminated. It is just that the MC is not directly involved in the events (nor ending up in a hospital or with more debt). The addition of a more typical adventurer (both in regards to power and personality) to the bunch goes well in highlighting the oddness of the adventures our "broke" adventurer finds himself. It are certainly the characters and the strange adventures that keep the series interesting to me. The orcs are a bit disappointing in how much they fit the dark trope you would except, goblins just bigger and used to make a bit of a tame joke at the expense of Lapis, but considering it happened off screen and they are little more than a speed bump to events keeps it to just an eyeroll. All in all, a solid addition to the series even if it is a bit straightforward compared to earlier volumes.
Eh, this might be the most mediocre volume of the series. You never really feel like the heroes are in that much danger. No new exciting information is revealed. Gula plays her role as comic relief. We meet an old friend of Loren and Lapis. Do yourself a favor and wait for the next volume to come out.
The only plus might be that this volume seems to have a couple of more illustrations than the others.
