A Queen who claimed a throne.
Three armies who will bleed for their land.

When the Cardinal Queen broke free from her curse, the skies filled with sangins, and Thyria began to die.

Hope Nevada, the Daughter of Red, never wanted a crown. She wanted her throne as Organ Mandor, and a future for the island she was born to defend. To outlast the Queen’s fury, she must gather the fragments of a broken heart, scattered across East, West, North, and South Petals, and buried deep in the Core where Thyria itself trembles. Each fragment recovered is a step closer to the power they need… and closer to the cost no one dared expect.

Ciaran Castel, the Son of Darkness, stands at her side, shadows at his command, bound to her by fate and by choice. Together with their armies and unyielding allies, they strike bargains in fire and shadow, reckoning with the brutal arithmetic of magic and sacrifice. Inked threats, stolen stars, and the lure of forbidden rites force them to ask what they are willing to lose for the sake of survival.

Hope must reclaim a throne and a nation.
Ciaran must choose whether to command the night, or be consumed by it.
Bound by magic and destiny, they carry one final weapon strong enough to save their world. But in Thyria, where powers shatter and Cardinals devour, love is never safe.

This is the third and final novel of The Panom Saga, a dark, epic romantic fantasy trilogy. Expect star-crossed lovers, divine wars, forbidden magic, fantasy that bleeds, and love that reshapes kingdoms. For readers of The Serpent and the Wings of Night, A Court of Thorns and Roses, and The Bridge Kingdom—where love is as deadly as it is divine.

Martha Monteval has been in love with books since she was five. She reads anything in the fantasy romance realm, especially if morally grey characters with dubious manners are involved. When she is not reading or writing, she is practicing martial arts, eating way too much sushi, or playing with her two little ones.

Her debut novel, Petals for Vicious Secrets, was published in 2024.

I can't believe how much this book had my heart in it's grip and oh how that grip squeezed!

The third and final book jumps straight in from book 2 and it doesn't stop! So many gut punches right from the get go and with no time to really adjust something else grabbed at my nerves, keeping me on edge, never letting me get comfortable.

There is so much I could unpack with the finale of this story, but I fear in doing so it would take away the impact of events that occurred and how the characters dealt with things.

The magic system is still something that I find makes this series stand out a little from other books in the genre and the descriptions of the settings and surroundings are vivid enough to capture you're imagination to envisage everything clearly.

I adore the characters and their attitudes, their closeness and fierce loyalty. They fight for each other with no regard for consequences, nothing is more important to them than each other.

The Queen is awful. The group do everything they can do to bring her down, it's just, in the end not everyone gets their happy ending. I was in a constant state of whiplash of being devastated, elated and devastated again. A proper roller coaster of emotion.

I am heartbroken at losses, I am delighted with unions and I think when an author can really get inside your head, make you love, laugh and cry with their characters, it's a definite 5 star read.

Thank you to the author for approving me to read this book, I can’t believe its over!!

The final book of the series really pulls the story together as it builds to the end. There’s a massive fight unfolding that could make or break the world. There’s grief for whats already been lost along the way, bonds forged stronger than ever and sacrifice to do what needs to be done.

The ending had my heart beatinggg, I felt a lot of emotions for the characters. There’s a few surprises along the story, but the ending just takes you back abit as they have come so far and yet you ask yourself if they did enough because there’s a lot at stake and battle is ugly.

Highly recommend this fast paced series with unique magic and a little spice along the way.

I’m so sad this journey is over!

There so much to unpack in this final instalment i’m not quite sure where to start. let’s just say it wasn’t a “light read” it was emotional, gripping, heartbreaking, exciting, romantic, there’s wins there’s losses. In a nutshell it’s pretty much everything you’d want to wrap up a pretty epic trilogy.

Congrats Martha you smashed it girl 🥂

I have been a Martha Monteval since the day the first book in this series came out. Safe to say, I am in love with her writing style and the world she’s created in this three-part series. This series holds a special place in my heart and my Kindle. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good fantasy series with incredible world-building and characters.

The third book, Petals for Broken Wings was a WILD RIDE! What an emotional rollercoaster. Let me first talk about the end of the book. The last few chapters were incredibly well-written, each detail hashed out so beautifully that I could feel every emotion of every person in the Cardinal Temple. I just couldn’t put it down until I finished the entire fight sequence.

Hope is an incredible character and one of my favourite female MCs. Lena comes in a close second, but I have been a bit partial to her since the first book. In writing the conclusion to this series, the author, I am sure, has broken many reader hearts because there will be no more Panoms, Courtrades and Thyria.

The last line of this book (you must read it to know what I am saying) is intentional (I am sure) and very impactful. After seeing destruction, readers are left with a hope for the future as Hope and Ciaran begin to rebuild alongside their friends.

In today’s times, we all need a little hope to deal with whatever is happening in the world, no matter which country we reside in. And when the ending has a good vs evil battle, with the good coming out on top, it's always a satisfying read.

Very thankful to the author to have received an ARC of this book, and what a way to finish the trilogy!
The fast moving plot with the multiple POVs make for a dynamic story and a gripping read, and it was far too easy to get sucked into the ‘just one more chapter’ cycle.
Characters full of sass and wit (and I think a very appropriate amount of swearing for the situation!) that you can’t help but love, and the author does a brilliant job of weaving emotion into the story. It was brilliant being able to explore more of the unique world and magic system, and very satisfactory ending to the series!

This series had me hooked because of the unique magic system, but I stayed for the characters and their dynamics. Martha Monteval writes in easy to read yet captivating style.

It’s been a wild ride. I had my heart torn out, ripped to pieces, sewn back together for it to break again. And isn’t that really what we’re looking for in a book?

And this might be silly, but I really loved the fact it starts out with a recap of where we’re at in Hope’s life. That’s something I miss in a lot of books in ongoing series. This way you can just jump in the story and enjoy.

I’m already looking forward to Martha’s next projects. If they’re anything like this series I’m already a fan!

Why did this book have to start with so much death and heartache… I was not emotionally prepared at all. For a magic system that revolves around balance, everything felt so painfully unbalanced this time. The losses just kept coming, and honestly… knowing that you'll die five times?! That must be hard to know.

I just really wish the ending had shown us more of the future. After everything they went through, I wanted to see what comes next and how things settle. Are there no more Houses needed now? What does the world even look like going forward? I have so many questions… and a slightly broken heart. But it was an epic series with an epic ending. The pet names are a bit cringe, in my opinion, especially the ones Ciaran and Hope use, but really who am I to judge.

100% recommended!

Romance, action, battles, twists, loss, courage, family, hope & love! The final book in the Panom saga was a great fast paced read! And the ending, what a great way to wrap the saga up. We saw our favourite characters fight back against the Cardinal Queen (some against the Cardinal Goddesses as well). Cried with them & felt hope & determination with them. Thank you for a great series. I am obsessed with Lenna & Jake! I wish to be as strong & stubborn & undeterred like Lenna!

I was lucky enough to receive a free arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This one was a wild ride!
As the last part of a trilogy, this one ends the main storyline but also leaves many open ends. For the answers I think we can only wait until the next series comes along.
So much happens in this book, so many wins and losses. This wasn't a light read, I really had to be focused to be able to keep all the storylines straight but it was worth it!
Congratulations to you Martha, for completing your first trilogy, and thank you again for having me on the ARC team!

Petals for Broken Wings by Martha Monteval is book 3 in The Panom Saga Series.

“To the beings who stepped on the ashes of their own destroyed souls. To the beings who set the world on fire when they were born.”
- Martha Monteval

Petals for Broken Wings was one of the best books I’ve read in a while. Wow! Not only has the author, Martha Monteval, created a well-constructed story, but she also kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book. There were no slow moments and no boring, long-winded explanations. Every word had a purpose.

As book two in the series did, Petals for Broken Wings begins with a short recap that summarizes where we are in the MFC’s life. I found this exceptional, especially since some time had passed since I finished book two and I needed a refresher. Imagined societies often require extra care when reintroducing readers to their worlds, and this was handled beautifully.

The premise of the story revolves around the main group of characters who, after being successful in most of their adventures in book two, realize they must return to their lands and defeat their nemesis. The author’s use of love, commitment, and trust creates an endearing connection between the characters and the story itself. I felt connected to each character, like I was in the war room during battle planning or nearby when two characters were sharing their deepest feelings. I genuinely wanted to see them succeed.

This book also introduces more humor and sexual encounters. I giggled out loud during conversations with a ghost and felt my temperature rise during several love scenes. All of these were tastefully delivered and delightfully steamy.

The story is powerful, fast-moving, and never dull. It was inspiring and a true joy to read, the kind of book that leaves you feeling a little sad when it ends. Without giving away any spoilers, I can say that love always prevails, but in this story, it takes a little time. And it is absolutely worth it.

World Building – Author includes a map of the World. Very intricate and sometimes puzzling, but the author goes to great lengths to describe in detail what we as readers are to be seeing and experiencing. Readers need to make sure they understand how the characters move – that is very important.

Plot – Magical, Political and Emotional Romantasy

Spice – 🌶 🌶🌶 🌶 Spice level was perfect for a Romantasy in my opinion. And the sheer passion that emanates from these characters only adds to the story.

Fantasy Tropes – Evil Society, Revenge, Mystical Beings and gods

Interesting to me – Fascinating and Unique Magical System and Doctrines, along with delightful use of imaginary forms of transportation and magical communication via temporary writings appearing on the arm!

Triggers – Violence & Death, Sexually Explicit, Physical Abuse, Emotional Abuse, Mutilation

I knew i would need tissues after the ending of book 2.

But then this one started right where it left off. It left me with all the feels right away. That was....A story of strong women, love, devotion, determination, overthrowing old ways, friendship, found family.

Lenna...her determination got to me. And it paid off. After what felt a lifetime of pain and tears. I'm happy she got that eternity bond with Jake in the end. She derserves that and more!

Hope and Ciaran, their love was such a wonderful thing to read about. Although the things they had to endure was more than just heartbreaking. But when he pulled down the stars, I was a goner!

Ayla and Nina...starsdammit. The author broke me with their story!

I'm not afraid to say I needed more than one box of tissues! But it was worth it!

This was more a 4 1/2 star. Such a good series and this book was amazing and also ripped my heart out 😭 the end left me with so many questions!

At the end who is now in charge of the north house? Do the houses not need rulers? What happens now with the four gone? I have so many questions! Mainly I don't want this story to end I've grown so attached to these characters!
