Savagely Mated: A Dark Wolf Shifter Romance

Rate this book
Instinct made me their mate. They made me take it like a good girl.

I'm bent over the kitchen table in the sprawling estate of the three alpha shifters who lured me here to claim me as their mate, and the roughest of these brutes is about to ravage me again.

Meanwhile the second most infuriating of these assholes is holding my mouth closed to make me swallow everything he just gave me, all with my thoroughly-used ass still sore from a spanking.

And the worst part is I've been soaking wet for all of it.

Because my body knows its mates.

Publisher's  Savagely Mated is the first book in the Shared Mates series but can be read as a standalone. It includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

I cant believe I finished this. Three men without care use a little girl for a pawn. Treat her horribly, suddenly mate bond without feeling . It magically works out in the dumbest way possible. Just Bleh!

I loved the FMC. It annoyed me how she was treated.

Easy read, easy to follow.

SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)

Darcy is an orphan who has grown up in the King's Guard Academy. She's been trained to fight. But being the only known female wolf shifter there is not easy. She's antsy and unsure of her future. So she regularly sneaks out to explore the city of Eclipse.

One day during her excursion to the city she finds herself in heaps of trouble with three brooding men. Men who turn out to also be wolf shifters and her mates. Oh and they are part of a radical group that intends to take out the king because he isn't the rightful heir. And now she's in the middle of all their crazy plans.

REVIEW:

This one didn't end up being at all what I was expecting. In some ways that's good and in others not as good.

With the title and the opening paragraph and the description, I expected this to be a darker shifter romance with some dubcon/noncon elements. But that's not the case. There was some struggle at first, but Darcy is also crazy for the guys and they are good to her (if not a little bossy).

I was also (pleasantly) surprised by the dry humor here and there. There's a lot of funny stuff that ends up happening and it was surprising, but good. The most hilarious thing (in my opinion) is Darcy insisting on getting a job as a motorcycle courier for a trashy little company called Delivery 2 Go (or D2G). This whole thing was so funny to me. The oddly specific absentee forms, the lack of concern for regularly exploding courier bikes, and the fact that her boss Clint literally never leaves his job and just sleeps in his chair. It's all quite humorous and funny. As is the fact that she continues working for them even after being crowned king.
“Fill in these absence reports,” he says, barely bothering to look at me. “Then we’ll get you back on the bike.” Unexpectedly Crowned as Monarch, the title of the first one reads. Married to Three Terrorists Who Now Share Duties as Royal Consort, the second says.

That being said I loved Darcy's character. She's a bit of a reckless brat, but in a lovable way? Like her rebelliousness is kind of adorable and not annoying to me.

The three guys were okay. We didn't get to know them much. I honestly thought Kirin would end up being the hidden heir because of his circumstances and it seemed to fit. But it was actually Rafe.

Speaking of that, one thing that did bug me is how their entire plan sort of fizzled out in the end and they didn't seem to care. All along the core motive for them was to get the RIGHTFUL heir on to the throne. But yet they don't care about that anymore when Darcy is crowned after she kills the former king. Like they gave up on their whole mission and beliefs because at least they have a hand in how things are ran now? It was just weird and out of character for them (especially Einar who was really gung-ho about it).

The other thing that bugged me was the entire setting. The setting is very disorienting to me. Like there's a king and a walled city. But things are kind of post-apocalyptic in the city itself, or dystopian maybe? But there's also cars and police and I'm so confused! It's very hard to picture what the setting actually is. I enjoyed the story but I wish the whole atmosphere was better explained.

Still, overall it was a fun book. Not at all what I expected going into it, but still a fun ride. Kind of fizzled out at the end, but at least it was a HEA.

Bored and quit 1/2 way

I started this book with high hopes. But after reading it half way through and dealing with constant misspellings, grammatical errors, and just a boring story line that makes no sense I quit. It starts off with our main female character in an academy that works at training some ppl as guards for the king. At halfway through the book they still have not explained why she is there or why they're keeping her secret or hidden. I read half way through this book and all it did was continuously go in a circle of her running away from her 3 mates them chasing her and her acting like 14 year-old teenager who's rebelling against the world which makes it uncomfortable when you're reading about how she's supposed to make bond with men in their 30s and 40s. If you can get past all the grammatical errors and misspelled words there is still no story line. I just don't care anymore to read any further or wasting time with this book. Fair warning To anyone who wants to read it You will be disappointed

Darcy has been training to be part of the King’s Guard only problem is that she is not a he. And she is rare, a female wolf shifter. She also tends to escape the academy to head into Eclipse a lot. Her accidentally meeting of three men causes all kinds of issues. For one, a duel and second, she is now bonded to all three. Einar, Rafe, and Kirin were planning to teach this little welp some manners when they are shocked to find he is a she. And even more, she is their mate. Now they need to protect her at all costs. But first they need to try and tame her.

This story made me think of Three Musketeers. If you ever saw the 1993 version with Charlie Sheen, Kiefer Sutherland, and Oliver Platt, you will know what I mean. I just could see these three when they “bumped” into Darcy. Have to say, after reading this I ended up rewatching that movie again. This is a fun story. Granted Darcy is not D’Artagnan but only by sex. She can hold her own in a fight with a saber. There is so much fun and action in this story you can’t help but laugh at times. Taming her is where the IT really heats up. I enjoyed this story. The men are trying to show her what is really going on but she is being stubborn at every turn. It is when the final showdown happens that she realizes what they have been trying to tell her was true.

Not for me

I thought this would be a little rough sex and some submission. Instead 3 men kidnap a young woman, try to beat/fuck her into submission to fulfill their wants and needs with complete lack and care for her physical or mental well-being. The book ends with a very unbelievable and anticlimactic finish. It was very disappointing. I desperately wanted the three mates to show some softness, love, and care towards Darcy. I wanted her to have the kindness, affection, and love she never had growing up. I wanted them to have a full circle moment of character building where they realize their way wasn't the only way, and for them to become good mates. Instead they fuck her brains out and then she goes off and does what they expect her to do while they sit there with no plan and no follow through. These rebels who have planned for this moment for decades are left sitting around on their asses like idiots while their 21 year old mate goes off and handles everything on her own. I almost stopped reading around 60% when Eirin canes Darcy, but I was hoping there would be a turning point for the mates. I was hoping they would see Darcy and their situation in a new lite. That didn't happen at all and it was all just disappointing. I loved Darcy though. Also disappointed that Joey never came back as a friend after everything was said and done. Also disappointing.

Throughly enjoyed this book
Darcy is one feisty young wolf shifter. If you’re looking for trouble, just follow Darcy and she is sure to get herself into some. Darcy was left outside the academy as a baby and they have bought her up teaching her how to be one of the kings guards. Darcy Never felt wanted or loved at the academy one day when she escape she goes into town and gets in trouble with three different men and she told to meet to have a duel. Darcy is feisty so she goes to fight these man but something strange happens to her body. She goes into heat. But what is special about these three men called Einar, Kirin and Rafe is they are her mates and they will do anything to keep her safe. But can they keep her safe from herself?
There is a really good storyline to this book that I didn’t see coming and I’ve got to say these men have got their hands full they will never be able to 100% know what she’s thinking because this girl is wild. But I must admit, I was cheering her on!. These Men all have different personalities and different ways that they interact with Darcy I’ve got to say that the passion is off the chance I thoroughly enjoyed this book and didn’t see the end coming.

This is an adult wolf shifter read. The book is about a female wolf shifter named Darcy who has grown up in the academy institution and trained to be a royal guard. She is quite a handful of recklessness and trouble follows her. She likes to run off and spend time where she shouldn’t be and meets three guys who are also shifters. She creates some trouble and the three plan to duel her thinking she’s a boy. This book has a lot of excitement and a mate who doesn’t follow rules and does whatever she wants. This book has the alpha males, shifters, a imposter king, plotting a murder, killing, love and a crowning of new royalty. As a shifter book it was a good read with strong characters especially the female.

~ MMMF
~ brat
~ spanking/punishment
~ intrigue

This had so much potential. So much! The plot idea was unique but it seemed like the author got tired and slapped the story together after the 70% mark.

Darcy is a rare orphan female shifter who lives in an academy training Kings Guard, she’s wild and reckless and happens upon her three mates while out and about. She’s supposed to be part of the Kings harem but people are protecting her for reasons we never learn. Her mates are part of the Blood, a rebel group looking to put the real king back on the throne.

Darcy’s mates realize they can use her to kill the king. This is the part that earned 2 stars (other than the uninspired smut). After realizing Darcy is their mate do they abandon the plot…..no! They all agree to use her as a pawn, putting her in the king’s harem in the hopes she doesn’t get killed or raped? Some mates.

Darcy is a very rare female wolf shifter. She was abandoned as a three-year old and has lived and been schooled at the king’s Academy since she was found. She is now twenty years old, physically well trained, rough, uncouth, arrogant, independent, troublesome, and head-strong. Darcy is adept at circumventing all the Academy rules. After one disastrous adventure, Darcy’s shifter secret is discovered by Einar, Rafe, and Kirin. They are awed, amazed and anxious to “save” her. Within a short time, all three shifters decide to mate with Darcy.

Darcy is one independent, super exciting, uncontrollable young woman who succeeds in achieving her goals in life, while also managing to change the lives of her three wolf shifter mates. This was an absolutely enjoyable read.

Savagely Mated

Savagely Mated by Loki Renard is a dark wolf shifter me age romance.
First, I am a new reader to Loki Renard & I'm ecstatic that I found their writing!
Einard, an alpha in his forties & stern taskmaster.
Rafe, also an alpha but also has a secret identity.
Kilen, A young man /pup also an alpha that has a "couldn't care less" attitude.
Darcy, A young woman that grew up at the Kings Guard Academy that is always doing dangerous things, skipping classes,. She's never known family & all that comes with that. She is also an alpha & that's more than likely the reason she acts out. Then one day she meets the 3 alpha men & their destiny is met.,

what the actual f is this book

Horribly written. I’d honestly leave an even worse star rating. It’s infuriating how these men treat the fmc. And I say that as someone who loves dark romance. It has no actual romance. Sex sure spicy scenes sure but there is no love there isn’t really even a true feeling of mates. It’s awful. And the spanking kink….as someone who likes that kink on occasion this book makes it cringe. And feels like no care for the fmc. It’s honestly a huge misunderstanding of the genre they are writing. I like Clint he was a cool guy. But yeah this was such a cringe read. Also had a lot of stuff taken from three musketeers. I should have dnf’d it.

It’s a fun read, full of excitement and danger. The story is well written and entertaining. I loved the fast paced action that is found throughout the story. Darcy is like a walking hazard, never knowing what she is going to do next to buck the system. She meets Kirin, Einar and Rafe and for the first time she truly belongs, with three mates. It’s fun to see her interact with her mates and the trouble that she seems to find herself in. Definitely a story worth reading.

Wow, just wow! There's action, adventure and danger from beginning to end in this story. Not to mention toe curling hot and steamy romance between Darcy and Einar, Kirin and Rafe. Even though she fights it tooth and nail, which makes it that much more entertaining. Add in some political intrigue and it's a great well rounded story, with awesome world building and terrific character development. It's a fast paced entertaining story and I enjoyed every minute of if!.

confusing ending

I dont understand the ending.

Darcy ultimately does what she was told to do despite her refusal and she was okay with it? And then the politics also felt confusing in general.

The world they moved in was also weird. Scrolls were used right next to their phones and force field shield things. Huh. Full gowns and royal breeches. Capes and leather uniforms with motorcylces. It was like a mix of medieval and scifi times.

Spice was meh. Lots of it but it didnt feel sexy to read.

Enjoyed reading this one. She has spunk and feels like she can't be tamed. She wants to live on the wild side until she can get into the kings guard. Not going to happen. The heroin, Darcy has a lot to learn. Best one of all is don't pick a fight with someone bigger then you. Second, don't tun and run off after you have shifted in front of 3 male shifters. These 3 males put her in her place quick. They all have different personalities but have one thing in common, her. Well written and story flows quickly. Spice galore to be had. Nothing really too dark. Just spice.

a good read

Left feeling slightly unsatisfied with the ending. Overall I liked how she murdered the king and how she met her mates. Insults and duels. But the ending felt a little rushed and their relationship a little too “slap a ribbon on it and call it a day” kinda way. I did think the cardinal was going to be a bigger villain or as least dish out some crazy next level evil stuff. The steamy moments were good, though the cum session was a bit much for me. Overall a good read.

Truly, genuinely, from the bottom of my heart I hope this author never writes another book.
It took me eight months to read this and I finished close to 100 books in between because I had to force myself to keep coming back to read a couple of pages of this in between or else I never would’ve finished because I hated this book in every way you can hate a book.
No part of this was good, honestly. Terrible character, dialogue, relationships, plot, writing. I cannot think of a single part that I enjoyed, and I wish so badly that I could learn how to give up on a book.

The Three Musketeers meets PRN Shifter craziness

A totally enjoyable snarky light shifter romance. It is like the Three Musketeers had a shifter baby on a futuristic Blade Runner movie set. Spice was 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️, plot was quick and easy, no real world building. I laughed and enjoyed it. A great palate cleanser after a bunch of heavy reading. I will look for more of this author for when I need a light hearted, steamy summer read.

Darcy is one of the most self-destructive main characters I've ever read. Thank goodness (or badness) she has her 3 mates, Einar, Rafe, and Kirin, who try to keep her out of trouble, while helping to train her to help them destroy the current king. Well paced storyline, action, drama, sizzle, steam, and more. A solid 4 stars from me.

This story is non-stop action. Darcy is innocent and defiant. She has no home or family. Einar, Rafe and Kirin are just what she needs even though she will fight them all the way. This story is a fast and long read with some violence and hot sexy erotic scenes. All the characters are real and rounded, the reader can feel their lives. I received an advanced reader copy of this book and am leaving an honest review. This is an entertaining and enjoyable well written story.

This was Different 😉

I usually always give Loki five stars, but this story was so completely different and not up to Loki's usual so it got four 🤔. Interesting story with lots of violence, action, sexy scenes and wonderful characters 😄. Thanks Loki, I'll always read whatever you write, but I'll be honest too 🤓.

I loved it…
Darcy’s unconventional upbringing left her a feral wild child with no impulse control or self preservation instincts. Her lack of common sense leads her to Einar, Raphael, and Kirin. The three alpha’s may have finally met their match with their sassy little mate… I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.

Hilarious

Filled with so many zingers and one liners I laughed the entire time I read this book. Clint was a sleeper agent character that worked his way into my heart. Darcy was actually too bratty, but I did like that she came to a point where she realized she was doing too much. Love the guys, just wish there was a further -in-the-future epilogue.

Darcy is a rare female wolf shifter who was raised in the King’s Academy. She doesn't like following rules. Einar, Rafe, and Kirin decide they need to tame Darcy, but then they realise that she is their mate. Life only gets more complicated.

A different type of shifter story.

Good funny read

Not really sure it was meant as a comedy but that's how it read to me. The smut in it was spicy but kind of ... lacking in the build ups if you ask me, which you did by reading this review, so there.
The story line was rushed but still good especially if you're just wanting a quick no holds barred read.

I wanted more

Loved this book and the parallels to the Three Musketeers. I know Lokis books are usually short, to the point and a guilty pleasure but I loved the story so much I wanted there to be more depth to it. It’s really good as it is for its intended audience but the story could have been great.

I am sure this will be a good read for some people but it isn't for me. I had to DNF at page 82. The FMC could be portrayed as having ODD, though I cannot be sure of that fact. What I do know is that the FMC has not done one thing smart since the book began except run away at one point but who knows if the FMC had enough sense to try to cover her tracks. She really is a spoiled brat.

Bizarre…

Bizarre in a good way. Also, kinky, snarky, fun, and sometimes very confusing. I’m curious about the next book because the way this book ended didn’t seem to actually resolve the main problem that was presented.
Regardless, I enjoyed more than I expected based on the average rating. I think the book earned all 5 stars.
