I began the book liking Ciardi. Then, about a quarter in, the poems appearing were mostly incomprehensible. Do the people with the 4 and 5-star reviews understand what he is saying? Because I don't. The occasional memorable line is laden with crap. I am extremely disappointed because I wanted to like Ciardi. Dammit!
