Dominant alpha Mason never thought he’d chase a mate again—especially not on the mating run. Widowed, older, with a grown son in college, his heart was long broken long ago. Until he meets Toby.
Wicked smart, sharp-tongued, and off-limits, Toby is the human his son’s been bullying… and the only one Mason’s wolf has ever howled for since his mate died.
Toby's too young. Too clever. Too tempting. Mason knows he should walk away.
But on the night when rules break and instincts rule? He’s done pretending.
Because if Toby’s going to run, Mason’s going to hunt.
And this time, he won’t let love slip through his fingers.
Stalked is a high-heat knotty wolf shifter/human age-gap romance with a HEA. It's part of the Mating Run series, but can be read as a spicy little standalone.
The plot had great potential, but the writing failed to elevate it. It was extremely overwritten; what could have been said in sixty pages took over one hundred. The internal dialogue was so extensive that by the time MC1 answered MC2, I had forgotten the question. The initial interactions in the woods were disappointing.
Again I would not label this as dark romance. Just because something has D/s themes does not make it dark. I did find this book a fun read though. While I enjoy that I can read these very quickly I am not a massive fan of the fact that it detracts from character development.
MM🌈 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Age gap Bully’s dad Paranormal Werewolf
Toby is the lone human going to college at a werewolf academy. He is being bullied by the alpha’s son. When Mason is bright to the school to mediate and he sees Toby for the first time, he knows he is his mate.
Mason’s previous mate died years ago. He never thought it possible to find another in his lifetime. He stalks Toby’s life and anonymously invites him to the annual hunt, paying for the remainder of his tuition.
Toby has always yearned to be taken, dominated, owned. And that’s exactly what the alpha chasing him wants to do.
omg it took me months before i realized this was the 3rd installment in a series. I knew i remembered reading a book like this before, i thought i even read it twice...it was book 1. they're really the same book with a different couple dynamic.
Coming into his own while opening up the alpha desires that stayed locked away since his first mate’s death! Talk about going on full on stalker and damn the chase in the forest, you can almost see it. I look forward to the next in this series.
