Serena's Grace: A Cowboy Ranch Summer Romance

Rate this book
**Each book in the Lovesick Series can be read as a standalone in any order, and they each have unique themes and heat levels. Serena's Grace has a Hallmark romcom vibe with frequent spice.

Hot summer days, sleepless nights, and a cowboy who refuses to play by the rules.

The moment his new coworker steps onto Hollow Oak Ranch, all Grant sees is trouble—from her blonde hair and pink nails down to her suede boots. Not to mention a cute-as-hell mouth that throws sass right back at him. But her glossy exterior isn’t the only thing that fades under the country sun. Serena reminds him of a time before the accident, before his heart shattered along with his dreams, and soon the fun and games spiral out of control.

All she wanted was a good time. And he didn’t mind getting down and dirty.

Grant is everything her toxic ex wasn’t. He works hard, plays harder, and even calls her cute nicknames just to make her blush. If only their life on the ranch didn’t feel like a lie. When she admits the truth about why she was sent here, will Grant still see her the same way? They’re two broken halves of the same whole, and it’ll take an act of grace to piece them back together…or love, if they’re willing to brave the fall.

“She was more than beautiful. More than a distraction—she might even be the answer to a prayer he hadn’t dared to utter.”

Synopsis:
A sassy city girl and a brooding cowboy clash at Hollow Oak Ranch. Grant sees trouble in Serena, but their fiery banter soon turns into something deeper. He’s everything her toxic ex wasn’t—hardworking, playful, and sweet. But when her secret comes to light, will love be enough to heal their past wounds?

“It was true she fell in love with the country, but she’d also fallen in love with him. A man who had become her adventure as well as her safe place. Someone who showed her how to love and live to the fullest with every breath.”

My thoughts:
This was my first read by Siberia Johnson, and I devoured it in a day! Serena gets caught up with the wrong crowd, leading her to community service at Hollow Oak Ranch—not exactly a city girl’s dream. She knows nothing about ranch life, but that’s where she meets Grant, the rugged ranch hand who’s her age and, from the moment they lock eyes, the attraction is undeniable. Though they start off rocky, they gradually warm up to each other, and from the beginning, he calls her "Sunflower" (I love a good nickname! 😍).

Their chemistry? Instant. It starts as lust, a casual fling meant to last just a month… until it becomes something neither of them expected. Grant has been heartbroken before, staying single since his high school ex. But with Serena, he begins to open up again. Meanwhile, Serena starts to embrace life at the ranch, growing in ways she never imagined—and loving how Grant treats her.

What I loved:
💖 Grant was thoughtful, kind, and never judged her for her past.
🔥 Despite being inexperienced, Grant had a MOUTH on him (trust me, you’ll love it! 😏).
👩‍🌾 Serena’s strength and resilience shined throughout the story.
💫 The way they healed together and supported each other’s dreams.

If you’re not a fan of insta-lust/love, this might not be for you—but their relationship felt natural, not forced. Yes, they were talking about marriage and kids within a month, which is usually not my thing, but in this story, I didn’t mind it at all. Their growth and connection made it work.
The spice? Since they didn’t have a proper place to be together, they got creative 👀, and it was 🔥🔥🔥. Serena’s patience with Grant was so sweet, but let’s just say… for an inexperienced guy, he knew exactly what he was doing.

I loved how, despite being young, they never made each other sacrifice their dreams. They found a way to make it work, and their ending was so satisfying. I highly recommend this book, and I’m excited to read more from this author!

Thank you The AuthorAgency & SiberiaJohnson for the ARC! This review reflects my honest thoughts.

Stars: 4.5/5
Spice: 3/5

This book is a heartfelt and captivating read, with stellar character development, particularly for Serena. It was incredible to witness how much more depth her character has, and the way it unfolds is truly satisfying. Grant’s supportive and nonjudgmental nature adds an extra layer of warmth to their dynamic, and his bold personality (and absolutely filthy mouth), despite being inexperienced, keeps the chemistry electric. The Hollow Oaks program adds a wholesome element to the story, and it’s clear that both Serena and Grant truly embody its values. With a perfect mix of feel-good moments and just the right amount of spice, this book delivers a delightful balance. The ending ties everything together beautifully, offering a perfect conclusion to their journey.

If this was a movie, this would be the type you'd enjoy on a noon during your holiday. The sun is out, no schools or works, and you're there cozying in your couch or bed with your favorite snacks, and this would be the thing playing on your TV.

This book gives you a pretty straightforward story with minimum distraction. The sole spotlight is about how Serena and Grant live their days in Hollow Oak while indulging their curiosities to each other. It focuses more on how she wants to know more about him. She thinks she could break his guard with the kind of flirtation she usually uses for other guys but it's so amusing to see that Grant is more controlled than she thinks. On a side note, it also shows Grant's perspective on how love changes him. He becomes closed-off and intimacy is not something he considers. It's also kind of entertaining to see that Grant is pictured as inexperienced but damn his mind and behavior speaks different though. The oxymoron of it is sexy, in my opinion.

And that battle of dominance they throw at each other on Chapter 31? Like it. Do it both, honestly. Both of them can be dominant to each other and I'm sure none of them will ever complain.

I like how the story ends. It feels like they manage to find love and the best from both worlds. There's no sacrificing one's dream for the other person. No-- they act like adults and actually find logical options which is pretty refreshing!

This deliciously spicy but sweet book brings you the story of Serena and Grant.
Serena is a spitfire who is sent to Hollow Oaks Ranch to complete 100 hours of community service in the form of workplacement as a helping hand/guide to a program that helps troubled youths and boy doesn't she NOT want a bar of it, but when she turns up her first glimpses of Grant may be enough to sweeten the deal 😉 I mean COME ON! Their chemistry is sinfully panty melting 🫠 and who knows what they both may learn from life on the Ranch and from each other? Maybe they can save eachother in ways they have only dreamed of 😍🫠

I ate this up in a day, it was so good I couldn't put it down!

Lost City Girl Meets Lost Cowboy

Serena finds herself with community service after getting in trouble with her ex. So now she finds herself in the middle of nowhere where she will be helping out at  Hollow Oak Ranch. She knows nothing about ranch life but she sure doesn't mind the eye candy. Can on cowboy help her discover herself and the beauty of the ranch?

Grant know all about what it takes to run the ranch and he is certainly surprised when his new coworker shows up looking so out of place he thinks maybe the car was lost. Can one city girl help him remember himself and find his way again?

This is a beautiful book about two very different people dealing with a similar dilemma in life. They are just kind of stuck and no sure how to move forward. Grant is still living in the shadow of a failed relationship and a lost passion. Serena is realizing how terrible her Ex was to her and how she didn't have any friends anymore.

As these two work together they find more common ground and understanding than they ever expected. Of course they also found themselves exploring each other.  Grant isn't entirely unexperienced but he is a virgin.

Hot virgin cowboy who wants to learn how to best please Sarena. City girl who wants to explore the ranch and the peach she has found since arriving at the ranch.

I loved this story so much. This one was definitely different than the others in this series of standalones but the sweetness and exploration were fantastic. Plus of course we love a hot cowboy and add in his teach me response.  Rawwrrr

This was a fine book. There were nice characters and I liked the premise of a city girl and country boy being sort of counselors at a youth camp on a ranch.

Serena is a bit saucy, Grant is cocky but soft-hearted inside. I really liked that he was a bit inexperienced, it made it all pretty cute and sort of innocent.

However, I found the characters a bit hard to connect to. There were some parts where they talk about how emotionally affected they are by each other and I just kind of felt like “based on what?” I’m not sure if it’s something about the writing or that they are new adult age and maybe I’m too far past that age now to really get into it.

Despite that, there was a sweet quality to their falling for each other. Summer love type of feelings.

Overall it was a good story and an entertaining enough read, I wouldn’t deter someone from this book and I can see potentially others may enjoy it more than I did. If you like a new adult, cowboy/city girl romance you may enjoy this one!

this was my first cowboy romance and i had so much fun reading it! i’ve never wanted to just pack up and buy a farm so bad before! i yearned for the secluded, tranquil setting this author described so well.

at the beginning, the two main characters were dealing with their own heartaches, leaving them both guarded and at odds with each other. i thought this was just gonna be an insta-attraction, summer fling type story, but it quickly turned into so much more than that. once they got past that and started opening up to one another, that’s when the real love story began. the level of patience and trust they both had for each other was beautiful, as well as the amount the growth and character development that occurred in each of them.

although the book was about serena and grant’s relationship, i think it was equally, if not more so, about serena’s relationship with herself and finding herself. i think that’s what really resonated with me the most, her coming to terms with her past and acknowledging that she wants more for herself. definitely worth the read!

I’m a big fan of Siberia’s Lovesick series. Having previously read & loved the first two books, I was excited to dive into book 3 & it did not disappoint!

Up to this point, Serena has lived a destructive lifestyle which has caught up with her in the form of a punishment (as she sees it) in being sent to a ranch to assist in a program for teens needing guidance. The minute she steps foot out of the car, Cowboy Grant catches her eye. He in turn is intrigued by this “city princess”. Four weeks of hard work, dedication & understanding follow, as well as some spicy time in a hay loft & falling for sweet Lucy. But both of them soon learn just what life & love has to offer.

I loved the dynamic between the two MC’s! The flirting for the get go that gradually heated up. Both characters have their own pasts and the deal with these together. Grant is just delicious in the way he is with Serena. Every girl deserves their own shirtless Cowboy like him 🧡

Definitely worth a read! But to enjoy the full experience, I’d also recommend the previous books in the series although it’s not entirely necessary.

I didn’t like Serena in the previous installments because she was part villain, but this was her redemption arc. She finally met her perfect match in Grant, who knew exactly how to balance out her cockiness. And wow, Grant was hella hot! I fell for him at first sight, just like he did with Serena. Their banter was everything, and I was slowly warming up to her.

And let’s talk about Grant. This cowboy knew how to make you 💦. Welcome to my book boyfriend list, Grant! You were the 3rd guy to make it this month. 😁 I also loved seeing Serena’s growth in this book. As a city girl, I knew how tough it could be adjusting to the countryside, so I really felt for her. And Grant? 💯 husband material 🥰.

This was written in third person POV, which wasn’t usually my thing, but Siberia’s stories were so unique that I kept coming back for more. The ending was so swoony! Also, could I consider this a partial sports romance because of the rodeo? 🤔 Either way, I loved seeing the MCs from the previous books again. Yee haw! 🤠

Huge thanks to Siberia for the ARC. It’s been amazing being part of your author journey since your debut!

Serena has been sent to Hollow Oaks Ranch to complete her hours of community service. Obviously, she's not too thrilled until she sees a handsome cowboy that just might make this worth her while 😜

Grant is so understanding and the perfect cowboy😍 Instantly added him to my list of bookbabes! He's simply amazing 👏

This story was completely blown out of the park by this author! For it being written in a third-person pov, I was surprised by how much I loved it! This series has been absolutely a treat to read!

This simply was such a feel good kinda book I honestly needed at the moment.
It was sweet, spicy, with a touch of suspense. I loved the character growth. I just enjoyed Serena and Grant's story.
The last thing Serena expected when going to a ranch for community service was to find love.
Then in walks Grant.
Let's just say....who can honestly resist a cowboy ?
But really, Grant was just the sweetest, but also protective and dominant too....when appropriate of course. 😉

Really though, I enjoyed the little special spots grant loved to go to and how he showed Serena..those scenes were 🔥🔥🔥🔥.

The ending ahhhh the ending!
So freaking damn cute. I loved it. Absolutely loved it.
Also liked how the other characters from the previous books were included to wrap up the little interconnected series.

Thank you so much Siberia for the arc. 🫶🏻

This was my first book by this author and I have to say that I really liked this story.

When Serena stepped foot onto Hollow Oak Ranch, Grant knew she was trouble. He’s kept his heart closely guarded after a bad experience that left him devastated. As the days go by, he realizes that there’s so much more to Serena and that she could be the one who breaks down his walls.

Grant was so swoony with Serena. He was a perfect mixture of sweet and broody. I loved their interactions with each other. They were both broken so watching them piece everything back together was beautiful to read. I really liked this story!

Cowboys are hard to beat. Cowboy romances even harder.

This one made me laugh out loud and cry happy tears. Serena and Grant are one of my favorite dynamic partners. The banter gets you hooked nearly instantly.

The playful way their relationship develops brings a smile to my face. I loved the way Siberia uses the horses, some friendly grandparent figures, and a bunch of teens in need to show the growth of these two.

What a joy to read.

Ugh, I just love a good cowboy romance. Grant and Serena has shitty exes that led to shitty situations but ultimately led them to finding each other at Hollow Oak Ranch. This would ultimately end up being the greatest adventure, they met and while she was the poiled city girl, it is definitely hard to not be charmed by sweet horses and a sexy cowboy. Grant was a heart throb in every sense, between just being a great guy, he was also very inexperienced in the romance department--and the fact that Serena was incredibly patient in teaching him, the same as he was with her. Their relationship while fast in a month, it felt like it bloomed so slowly and beautifully. I really freaking loved how much they became each others support systems during their time at the ranch and even after. Absolutely recommend.

Siberia does it again with another amazing book. This cowboy romance was just everything. Our MFC has to partake in a program she never thought existed. She then meets our MMC and struggles from then on. To say she grew is an understatement. She grew a lot during this program and it changed her in many ways than one. Makes me want to partake. Nonetheless, this book does come with a happy ending that had the potential of not happening at all. I enjoyed all of it even the part with the fire. Helped build the intensity of the story. Perfect cowboy!

Serena's Grace by Siberia Johnson is the third book in the Lovesick series. This is a slow burn Western New Adult Romance with, Forced Proximity, Cowboy/City girl, Fling to Forever, Inexperienced MMC and Love after Heartbreak.

This is a Standalone in the Lovesick series with dual POV , 3rd person . The first POV is Serena, the MFC. She is a city girl finding herself on a ranch in the middle of nowhere. She just have to survive the month. Serena is lost and throughout the story we get to see her find herself and helping other as well. I love how her story developed.

The second POV is Grant, the MMC. His only goal is to help out Mr. and Mrs. Weston and making it to the next day. He made a good life for himself on Holllow Oak ranch after his ex girlfriend broke his heart and his dreams shattered. Grant is such a gentleman and he loved to help kids find their way back. I love how Grant is an actual cowboy and not just a guy with cowboy boots and a cowboy hat.

This was such a cute read, it was short and quick. I loved seeing the characters of the previous two book in the epilogue. Serena and Grant are such a cute couple. I love how they each went through their own development separate by also together. One of my favourite parts are how they helped the kids. Holllow Oak ranch is such an amazing place and Mr. and Mrs. Weston are such wonderful and caring people.

I wanted to go back and reread the first 2 book again. I am super excited for book 4 that’s coming out maybe next year.

Thanks so much to Siberia Johnston for sending me this arc unexchanged for an honest review.

I loved the atmosphere that Hollow Oak Ranch sets for the book. It brings troubled souls together to help work through their problems and puts them in a better space to figure themselves out and think about who they want to become. The perfect place for self reflection, and to fall in love.

Serena is a fiery, city girl who is use to going after what she wants. After getting into trouble with the wrong crowd, she finds herself serving a months long community service stent at Hollow Oak Ranch, the furthest thing from what she’s use to. After stumbling upon Grant, the next month just started looking a lot more bearable.

Grant is a down to earth cowboy who’s spent the majority of his life on or around Hollow Oak. For the past year, he’s been working full time around the ranch to forget the heartache his ex caused. It isn’t until Serena steps foot into his life that he starts to open up again.

Serena and Grant share an instant connection, but it never feels forced or too fast paced. I loved how open and organic their relationship is. Even through the sass and banter, they never forced or faked anything between them. I especially loved Lucy and her role in their relationship.

If you’re wanting a heartwarming, cowboy romance…this is definitely the one!!

If you want it to work out, then it will work out.
City girl Serena is sent to Hallow Oak Ranch for the last 4 weeks of summer after getting in trouble and hanging out with the wrong people. Serena is a wildchild princess, sent to the ranch as part of a court order to work.
Best way to describe Grant is he's like a cool drink on a hot day, yum! He's worked on the ranch for a few years, trying to forget his past. Both have been hurt in the past and want to forget the pain they've been through. Serena was treated badly by her ex and Grant betrayed by his.
When the two first meet, they are equally attracted to and annoyed by each other, fun times ahead! They really enjoy needling each other. Their jobs on the ranch are to help run the program helping kids who are sent to the ranch to sort out their lives.
Serena thought she'd hate it on the ranch but it grows on her, filling a void she didn't realise needed filling. You really see Serena grow up as the story goes along. She loves spending time with Lucy the horse and the handsome Grant whose finding out he really likes Serena being on the ranch too.
As they fall for each other, they begin to share their stories and secrets. Serena's only at the ranch for four weeks, I really wanted her to stay with Grant. These two are so good for each other. Teaching one another things and falling in love. The way Grant takes care of Serena I just loved it, he said one of my favourite things to her 'I got you'. Perfect.
No third act breakup, they are it for each other and found a way to be together.

Facing a summer of community service at the Hollow Oak ranch's deliquent rehab program, Serena finds herself face-to-face with her assistant partner, Grant. Grant has been a staple of Hollow Oak after his own life went downhill, and now he enjoys the peace of ranch life and helping the residents of the summer program. City girl Serena doesn't seem cut out for farm life, but she surprises him left and right. While the summer sun heats up the air, the tension between these two reaches a boiling point. Grant is ready to give in to the temptation Serena offers, but she's worried her past discretions will force them apart. As summer comes to an end, Grant and Serena have to take the life lessons Hollow Oak taught them and decide how to change their future.

Broody cowboy and a city princess culture clash for the win. Serena is glam and couture, while Grant is dirt and sweat. These two finding each other was one in a million, but when they fell, they fell hard. I loved their stolen moments from Grant's Cowboy Romeo impression to skinny dipping to mutual pedicures. They both brought out a side of each other that was previously undiscovered. I enjoyed their dynamic and how Grant always called her sunflower for bringing the sun to him. Their tenacity was enviable, and I'm simply thrilled with that ending for the story!

Serena's Grace is a captivating cowboy Hallmark romance with a delightful touch of spice. This book was definitely outside my usual preferences, but I fell in love with it! Serena and Grant both carry the weight of a past they desperately want to leave behind, and when their paths cross, the attraction is immediate and electric--before long, they find themselves irresistibly drawn to one another. The chemistry and playful banter is nothing short of magical; you can feel that they are truly destined for one another. Their growth as individuals and the unwavering support they offer each other add a deeply heartfelt layer to this story. I felt it might have benefitted from a bit more plot depth, but since this isn't typically my go-to genre, perhaps that's just a hallmark of these stories. Regardless, if you're in the mood for a swoon-worthy cowboy romance laced with some tantalizing dirty talk, I wholeheartedly recommend diving into Serena's Grace.

When Serena come to work at Hollow Oak Ranch, she meet Grant there. Grant though she was just a sassy city girl who is nothing but trouble. Soon their fiery banter turn into something more. She reminds him of his life before accident , of his dreams and he’s everything her toxic ex wasn’t—hardworking, playful, and sweet. But when her secret comes to light, will their love be enough to heal their past wounds?
This book was such an amazing read. The chemistry, the banter and the characters all were so amazing. I love seeing both of the character heal from their past. Both of them helped each other open up and break free from what was holding them back. Grant was the sweetest. I love how was so nonjudgmental he was for her past. Their story has such a warmth to it. It was so well paced and omg the way this guy talk. I love him. The end was perfect to tie up the whole story.

This book is amazing, Siberia can really spin a story that will suck you in and wanting more at the end. This book blew me away from the first page until the last. This Cowboy romance is truly amazing. The story is captivating and the characters are truly ones you can relate to.

This book follows Serena who has to go through a program after her now ex got her in trouble, she didn’t want to be there. It is at a ranch and she’ll have to help out with other troubled people.

Then you have Grant who’s there and been helping out at the ranch, he sees Serena and her bossy, princess attitude and sees something in her. Grant the cowboy who has been hurt and Serena the princess who falls for the cowboy and they both change for the better.

This book will truly captivate you and the popping up of past characters from previous books is truly amazing! Can’t wait to see what Siberia comes out with next.

This was a super sweet read plus it has cowboys so you know I’m all about it.

Grant is a man who knows what he wants, where he’s going and how he’s getting there. A man with a plan if you will. He is adorably attentive. “When will you figure out I’m the kind of guy who likes to take care of my woman?”

Serena is trying to figure out who she is, she seemed a little lost, but she’s smart and makes the best of what hand she’s dealt.

Throw in a ranch, some decadent dirty talk. Gorgeous horses and you have yourself a great read.

Serena’s Grace is book 3 of Siberia Johnson’s Lovesick series, while I didn’t read the first two, it was easy to follow along with Serena and Grant! This slow burn small town romance definitely brings the heat half way through the book. I loved that both main characters had their own past that they worked through together, which made them thrive together.

Thanks Siberia for letting me be an ARC reader for Serena’s Grace

This was my first book by Siberia Johnson. Turns out it's book three in a series but I believe it can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed the story and all the relationships that formed. The story follows Serena and Grant but also showcases other characters as well. As for Connor, I wanted to know what his father had told him. That situation was crazy! And the ending was so good! I felt that the descriptions of scenery was sometimes a bit much but it made me want to visit a ranch. Overall I recommend this book! Tropes/themes in this book include cowboy/city girl, virgin hero, everywhere but the bed, fling to forever, forced proximity, spice, dual pov
