“The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong at the broken places.” —Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell to Arms
If you have ever experienced loss, you know that it changes you. The process of moving forward with grief is unpredictable and often overwhelming. The journey can feel isolating, but we want you to know you are not alone.
Threads of Gold is not a collection of sad stories. Rather, it’s a tribe of inspiring people who have come together to support you in the broken places along your journey. This book shines a light on the messy, imperfect process of moving forward with grief. It weaves together twenty-six different voices of resilience, offering insights to help you face your own “worst thing.”
There is no “perfect” way to respond when your world falls apart, but sometimes it’s helpful to learn from someone who’s a little further down the road. Each of us is on our own path, and we are all figuring it out as we go. But we can help walk each other home.
This was a wonderful collection of people's various encounters with grief. The perspectives were relatable and I will keep this a resource next time life throws a curveball.
This is a book that is compiled by the life stories of many different families who have walked through unspeakable pain, loss and grief. It is a difficult read but can also be a healing balm for the hurting heart. If you are hurting there are many great resources in this book that can be helpful. It covers so many topics, loss of children, parents, spouse, mental illness, neurodivergence, physical pain, loss of a job, etc. The stories are heartbreaking but offer hope as well.
