Garden Walk Buffalo

Rate this book
Buffalo’s Garden Walk is the largest garden tour in the nation, and the only one of its magnitude that can actually be walked. More than 400 Buffalo gardeners open their gardens to the public during the last weekend of July each year as part of one of Western New York's most anticipated summer events. The GardenWalk Buffalo book includes interviews with 27 gardeners, as well as photos of more than 80 additional gardens. There is a photo section for the gardens of Frederick Law Olmsted's Delaware Park, a spread on community gardens, a list of selected plants grown in Western New York (Zone 5), a history of Garden Walk Buffalo and its impact on local urban gardens and how it helps rejuvenate city streets, and even a brief bit on how to start your own garden walk.

This is a lovely book. I've seen it around Buffalo shops and bookshelves for years but only recently picked it up. The garden photographs are beautiful, colorful, and inspiring. The short background sketches of each garden and its keeper are a nice accompanient. Perfect gift for new homeowners or any green (or inspiring to be green) thumb.

The book was a gift from friends in Buffalo after I had finished the Walk. Absolutely beautiful photos and informative . I esp appreciate the included maps of garden locations. I wish this book would transform into a hard cover, coffee table book with more great gardens!
