A war between the ancient dragons of Onis and the elves has been raging for nearly a millennium, but the dragons' hatred of the two-leggeds is spilling over to all the races, including the humans, dwarves, and drow. As the tyranny of the ancient dragons terrorizes all the two-leggeds into hiding, the very land of Onis is dying around them. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed all three of the books in this trilogy. The author writes in such a way that you feel you must keep turning the page to see what happens next! Such detail is used to describe places and characters that you literally can see it in your mind's eye. At one point, I found myself saying, "How truly cool it would be to live here!" A mind-blowing twist in the story had me floored, and I can honestly say I did not see it coming in the slightest. Amazing writer! I'm most definitely looking forward to what comes next! Keep writing R.E.Davies, you have an abundance of talent with the written word as well as your artistic talents that can be seen in the sketches throughout your books.
This incredible story keeps getting more intense! I am in awe as to Ms. Davies' incredible imagination! I was not expecting what happened in this book to happen when it did, and the ending took me completely by surprise! It made for compelling reading, and created anticipation for the next chapter to follow! Davion's character continues to evolve, and it's hard to gauge where he is heading. I look forward to finding out!
What a delightful end to the series! Epic battles and a wonderful love story. R. E. Davies is swiftly becoming an amazing author and I can't wait to see what she writes next
Just WOW! So many emojis I could use right now to express how this book has made me feel. Quite a ride for sure. The author has once again even further developed the land of Onis and given us even more twists and turns and feels. Book 3 the Rising was a truly epic finish to a truly epic series. The final “confrontation” was done so well and that ending….! Brilliant! It wraps up this trilogy very nicely and answers questions you likely had and some you probably had not even thought of, but the story is clearly not over. I love that there will be more to come and can’t wait to return to Onis the next chance I get!
Completing this book was very bitter sweet for me. While I am so thrilled to have brought this story to its conclusion, I will miss some of the characters very much as I move forward with the Onis Chronicles. It was, and still is, a very emotional book for me with its highs and lows and everything in between. I hope you enjoy the journey as our band of cohorts make their final stand against Aeris.
Another great fantasy read. The war has started and lots of changes are coming. Lalia finding who she really it was amazing. Davion still obsessive for searching for Lalia and finding what she has left behind. Clans are working together and trying to rebuild their lands. This is and amazing 3rd installment of the series and lots of intense moments. Was hard to put down. Greatly written and amazing characters.
📚Reign of the Ancients: Part 3: The Rising (The Onis Chronicles - A Fantasy Adventure Series) By R.E. Davies
✨My rating:-9.9/10
📚My review:- Have you heard about the Reign of the ancients book series ? Did you read the previous two books mentioned in the series ? The book " The Rising " is a fantasy - adventure fictional tale and basically the third book in the series which revolves around the war that has been raging for nearly a millennium, between the ancient dragons of Onis and the elves. The land of Onis was in danger, it has no other choice then to come unite together to set themselves free. But sadly the Aeries, about whom we have already discussed in the previous book, comes to know the plans of the maiden elf. The silver Monarch now aims to strike them down just before they could do anything to them. In order to bring the land together and face the reigning ancient dragons, they had to face a lots of ups and downs. The journey wasn't easy at all. But did they succeeded ? Or will all their efforts go in vain ? Will they overcome the dragons ? Turn the pages to know what happens next in the story. The language used is well structured and easy. The author is, without a doubt, a fantastic storyteller. Because of this one factor, I was able to glide through this 300+ page book. The writing style is absolutely gripping and well maintained. The narration done is smooth and flawless. The cover of the book is well depicted along with a suitable tittle. I would highly recommend this series to each and everyone reading this review. Overall, I enjoyed it.
Audiobook: I enjoyed book three as much as the first two books in the series. I admired the creative spark which joined the riders and their dragons to become United which then resulted in an increase in their powers. I felt sorrow as the companions needed to separate in order to cover more of Onis to find more supporters for their final confrontation with the Silver Monarch and her army. I rooted for Laila and her determination to bring peace to the land of Onis. I liked the characters. My attention was kept focused on the story by all the twists and turns. I was entertained by Aaron Smith's narrative skills and enjoyed his performance a lot. I thought R. E. Davies' performance, which provided a voice for Laila, was a wonderful addition to the narration of the audiobook. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions on this audiobook.
Wow.....an incredible read. This one kept me up til the early hours! The imaginative story is told with powerful and descriptive word pictures. As a bonus the author has included stunning drawn images of some of the characters. Unexpected twists in the narrative lead to the long awaited battle to bring peace to Onis and to restore it to its former verdant beauty. I was enthralled by the dramatic descriptions of the final battle, which is long but oh so satisfying. I don't usually enjoy battle scenes but this one is sensational. Be prepared for surprises up to the very end!
The band of warrior's plans for the pending war are scuffered by enemy dragon warfare, forcing them to use different magical and military tactics to combat them. Laila goes through much heartache aswell as confusion since she still battles with her love for both the dark elf and the human. But this proves to be a powerful catalyst in the final battle, which results in a surprising ending.
An excellent series I very much enjoyed. Definitely worth considering purchasing the audiobooks as the production and narrators are very good.
Actually about 3.75. I found this third book a bit underwhelming compared to the last two. BUT the ending was a surprise, with the true identity of the MC finally being shown. But it started to feel a bit rail roady due to the prophesy and its required completion.
What started in book one as a good basis for a trilogy gradually lost its way with not only an disjointed storyline plot by book three but with characters the author made more unbelievable and seeming more concerned with bulking up the book with trivia than quality penmanship. A shame as the outline had a lot of potential.
R.E. Davies delivers yet another epic with Reign of the Ancients, Part 3: The Rising! The stakes soar as alliances are forged and hearts are tested, with every twist pulling you deeper into this gripping tale of unity against ruthless dragons. Aaron Smith and R.E. Davies bring the story to life with impeccable narration, making this a must-listen for fantasy fans!
Overcoming obstacles! I love this trilogy. It's exciting right up to the end. I liked how love and respect spread around so that humans, elves and dragons fight for peace and then rebuild and form alliances. Helping each other goes a long way in thriving and recovering from their feud. The narrator is really god at his job and brings the story alive.
