The incredible children of Rose and Finn all grown up

Billy Wong does it again! The story of Rose and Finn continues in Iron Seeds. In Book 8 of the series, Amber and Jacob, Rose’s and Finn’s twins, are introduced to the extreme world of their parents – battling evil and magic! It’s a pretty rocky start for the twins. Amber is horribly injured in an attack, and being scared to death, Jacob runs away, leaving his sister to die alone. Jacob runs back home, and admits to his father what he has done. Jacob leads Finn to the bloody battle scene – but no Amber. Finn tells Jacob, “Don’t count her out yet. If she’s anything like your mom, she isn’t nearly done!” As Amber fights to get home, she once again runs into the outlaw whose hand she just cut off, but he is in no condition to battle her again, and dashes off. Not long after, Finn and Jacob find her with her opponent’s sword still sticking out of her torso.

The book starts out exciting and keeps up the same pace all the way through. With new twists and turns, book 8 does not disappoint the seasoned Iron Flower Series reader. Yes, it can be enjoyed as a stand-alone novel, but why miss out on the rest of the great series.

Iron Seeds (Legend of the Iron Flower #8) by Billy Wong

Rose and Finn are back and their twins are grown (teens). Amber is very much like her mother, fierce and tough for a young lady. Jacob is more docile but still able to hold his own. Together the family fights for justice. They must fight off many evil creatures and monsters to keep their world safe.

A fast paced action (sci-fi) adventure with two strong female leads. I really like Rose, I have from the first book. Her daughter Amber is just as likable, a younger version of Rose. I also liked the tight bond that Amber and her twin brother (Jacob) have. Another thing I loved is how the family is devoted to each other, and they will do what ever it takes to protect their family. Iron Seeds great as a stand alone, but I highly recommend the entire Iron Rose series. I have to add my personal opinion (about) the cover, it is awesome and I loved it.

I received a free copy of this book. It does not change my opinion of or how I review this book.I read the description on Goodreads and was intrigued enough to read this book even though it is the eighth book in the series and I had not read any of the previous books. The strong female leads that are described intrigued me, and the book does not disappoint in that regards. It is a sci-fi, fantasy books with monsters and beasts and brave warriors like Rose and her family who fight the monsters off for the sake and safety of humankind. There are a lot of fight sequences and a lot family scenes. I really have no reason to not love the book, but I did not. It was good, but it did not stand out in any way to make me love it. However, strong female warriors in sci-fi books are hard to come by and if you are looking for that I would suggest giving this series a try because you may fall in love with it even though I did not.

Part of the Iron Flower series focussing more on the children and their trials as they try to live up to the heroics of their parents. There are the usual extensive fight scenes and new "monsters" to overcome with one particularly nasty one returning. The ending sets you up for another in the series but I find I can read these as standalone books.
