Serenity was a feeling long lost to the Hollow until Leigh's discovery. The lost tribe of the Minqua returned to their home; a home they had not known in many centuries. Peace became as commonplace as dew upon the morning grass and prosperity followed. When a long lost descendant returns, that peace is endangered and the true destiny of those who dwell in the valley below the O'Bannon estate will be tested as it never has been before leaving only one question to be answered.

Although I would still rather see the first book on the big screen, Lupus Rising does not disappoint instead this story just keeps getting better. The character development in Lupus Rising excells easily exceeding that of A Tale of Two Cities or Of Human Bondage. If you aren't reading these books you have no idea what you're missing. To call them modern classics would insult the authors; these books are much more than that. The immense scope of the story challenges the reader; how the authors kept it straight defies explanation. When you finish this volume in the series, two things will emerge as immediately necessary. First is a reread of The Wolves of Dullahan with your newly gained knowledge of the characters and the second is a demand for the release of the next book in the series. The new characters are more vibrant and exciting than those we already love from the first book. I stand in awe of the authors' ability to place me in their scenes. No other book that I have read provides that feeling of standing there watching the way these do. I am certain as I read that I can reach out and touch the characters although I don't think I would want to touch Faoleen's hair. I won't bore you with the usual 'it's a great read' or other platitudes so often used in reviews; but I won't sleep well until I hold the next volume in my greedy little hands as I fight to finish just one more chapter before going to sleep. Those authors who consider themselves the royalty of the Horror/Mystical/Adventure genre take note, an English saying is appropriate now. "The King is dead, The King is dead, Long live the Queen." The new royalty has risen to the throne.
Such a great story, the people, the way she describes the heritage, and clothing. This series is addictive. The difference between characters are amazing. I can't wait for the next book.
