Software development is about more than just the relationship between a person and a computer. It's about people, the ways they work best as individuals and the ways they communicate with each other to create software that one person could not produce alone.
Successful software development requires being mindful--being conscious-of how you work and how you interact with others to produce something that you all are proud of.
In Conscious Software Development, Jeff McKenna shares insights gained from a lifetime of experience in the industry.
This is a short book. In these few pages, Jeff McKenna distilled what he believed is the essential lessons from 50 years of professionnal practice. There are no extraordinary revelations inside. The author focus a lot on the human side: how we interact, how we think. Strangely, I found a lot of common points with the author : I'm good at starting, and bad at finishing and I think mostly graphically than text-based. The last page is done very quicklyand it's a very pleasant journey Ma note de lecture en Français ici
I really enjoyed reading this book. It is sharing lots of introspection on software developer life. Lots of excellent advices on how to work and grow to become a better engineer.
