Very short wee book that explains Cramners "four comfortable words" contained in the communion liturgy. "The glory of God is to love the unworthy" is at the heart of Cramner's theology, the beauty of Jesus is not that he not our angry judge but rather instead he is our caring shepherd who seeks to give us rest. The heart of Reformed worship should "lift up our hearts" to the the God who allures us to Himself.

This very short book sheds a lot of light on the obscure but beautiful "Comfortable Words." I read this in about 30 minutes and it was certainly worth the time. It reveals how much thought and effort Cranmer put into crafting that original prayer book and also how simple the Gospel can be. This is a reminder that the Gospel is personally relevant to all sinners and Gods grace is for all. Worth the time for sure.
