My latest book is a memoir entitled “Weight Loss Surgery After Age 50: The Geriatric Bariatric Life.” It is available in e-book and print form at Amazon. I want other senior citizens to know that there is no upper age limit for bariatric surgery. It saved and improved my life at age 62. I’ve kept the weight off for almost three years without suffering using a 15-point strategy.
I’ve been a professional writer and author since Jimmy Carter was president. My degrees are in education and psychology. I am of Choctaw, Cherokee, German, English, Irish, Scottish, and Welsh ancestry. Recent DNA testing has added Malian, Scandinavian, Italian, and Spanish to the mix.
My eight books and many more booklets cover a wide range of topics. The booklet series include: 1) The Accidental Wisdom Series booklets share the serendipitous My wisdom arising from four decades of magazine article research. 2) The Buying Guide for International Collectibles and Folk-Art Series focuses on ceramic sculpture, wood carvings, embroidery, and sterling silver figurines from around the world. 3) The Right Now Series offer innovative ideas that can be applied immediately to questions and issues that arise from being human.
I have been awarded the Mom’s Choice Award’s National Silver Award, the Numismatic Literary Guild’s Best Token and Medal Book Award, and the Ecphorizer Magazine’s Grand Prize Award. But all anyone needs to know about me is that I love learning and writing most of all and in equal measure.
