Beautiful pediatric surgeon Naomi Horton has a strong desire to have a baby of her own but her marriage failed and she has not had much success with the dating scene. She is strongly considering having a child on her own by artificial insemination but she just might have second thoughts when she meets the new Chief of Pediatric Trauma Surgery.

Gorgeous Rick Weber (makes me think of the good old days on General Hospital) and Naomi Horton have an undeniable connection from the second they lay eyes on one another and the air sizzles between them. A wife and family are nowhere on Dr. Rick's wish list. He doesn't feel or do emotions, period! His emotional walls were erected years ago and he is not about to let them tumble down.

When they travel together for a medical conference in Chicago the sizzles burst into flames and they have a wonderful, sweet, sensual love affair but before they can return home he tells her he doesn't want her. He viewed it as a no-strings-attached weekend. Too bad he didn't fill Naomi in on that bit of info. She had already told him she would not have a fling so when he continued to pursue her she thought he wanted more.

Several weeks after the convention Naomi discovers she's pregnant and she is doing her best to ignore the good doctor. Her heart is broken because she loves him like crazy and he has made no effort to contact her. She's already lost one pregnancy and decides to wait until she has passed the three-month mark before she tells him. That admission doesn't go too well.

A great book. I loved it. There is not a lot of angst, not the kind that has everyone all tore up for long periods of time. It is sweet and lovely and it will definitely go on my re-read list. The writing and medical understanding was very good. I highly recommend this book!!

This was an enjoyable book. The author really brought the characters to life, and the dialogue was excellent. The ending was disappointing though, because it seemed rushed, and a little cheesy - wrapped up in a big shiny bow.
