This story is so sweet!
I love the fact that it's a poem. And the pictures are wonderful!
The story is of a boy who gets a collie for Christmas, and the years go by and the boy and dog grow up together. I won't tell you the ending but it is so sweet and makes me blink tears away even while I smile.

Oh! My! Goodness! What a sweet story! How darling!
I would definitely recommend this story to any dog loving families. (Please note that has a sad/bittersweet ending.) But is absolutely charming in every way!

Would just like to say this was and is still my favorite childhood book. I was gifted this book when I was one year old. My mom read it to me every Christmas and then I continued the tradition when I was able to read, myself. I still have this book and will never get rid of it. 💘 I still read it every year. It’s such a sweet story.
