"Eating Pizza with a Spoon" is a biography of my brother, John Mark Brooks, who killed himself July 28, 2013, in Nasheville, TN, where he had gone in a self-imposed exile from his friends and family, to be among his tribe, the musicians of Bluegrass. He was suffering from diabetes, a stroke, and neuropathy, and he believed that his book "Hem," about the life and death of Ernest Hemingway was a failure, and that he had no family he could count on, despite the attempts by his brothers to find him.
