Another series comes to an end and goes out with a bang. Several twists and turns leave your mouth hanging open and saying "no way". Rider's mate is not what I expected and I thought the storyline was a little more tame then the others in the series. Graham is an unusual name for a women and she is definitely one of a kind. I liked getting to see the softer side of Rider as he always came off as the heavy and kind of dark brooding character. I thought the story was easy to follow and I just love the characters and the new ones we get to meet. The last few chapters give you some closure on the other Lanning family members and hopefully leaves an opening for a new series about their children. I really want Max to get his story and Nic ( I know he is not one of the children) needs to find a good women to keep him in line. Be prepared for some surprises, Ms. Barton likes to keep her readers on their toes. I am sad to see this series end but look forward to starting another of her awesome stories.

I was given an ARC for an honest review.

Wow, Just Wow! Kathi S. Barton has succeeded in providing an epic finale in her "Lannings Leap" series. 'Rider' is filled with all the drama, adventure, fear, blackmail, and murder any mystery would need but it also includes the love of and loyalty of family, along with the intense chemistry between fated mates, plus forgiveness and understanding. If you've read the blurb then you know Rider found his mate, his other half. What you don't know is their destiny is tied to a man and a dragon. This was such a great read. It answered all the questions. Brought everything full circle and tied up all the loose ends. And then we get a glimpse of the future. What a remarkable gift Ms. Barton has given her readers with not only this book but the entire series. Would I recommend it? Every single time!!

A fitting end

The love between Rider and Graham is interesting and hand more ups and downs until they found out what was coming to them and why. Once the found out about the dragons the story became more focused. I loved the ending and so will you but don't cheat and go there first! It is the drowning ending for all the books. I loved it.

The book starts with a Prologue, giving us a peek into Sonya's plans for the Lannings, which essentially equates to 'they all must die.' If you've read the previous books in the series, which I highly recommend, then you're aware that Sonya has been a problem for a while, constantly meddling in this family's lives, moving things around to suit her purposes. In the present time, even though we know Sonya was killed, her plans that were set in motion so long ago, have not been stopped and now Rider's mate is in danger. One man who had no choice but to help her, took measures to keep his beloved daughter safe for numerous reasons. To accomplish that task, he sent her to the future, to be ready when the Lannings needed her expertise.

Rider, and the other Lanning men, are at peace with their decision to close down their search and rescue business. The stress and emotional upheaval from every case had been weighing so heavily on them that they needed to stop doing it to save their sanity. Now Rider is happily traveling around looking for items for his sister-in-law Laci's, Andrew's wife, antique shop and for the hardware store the men now own.

Graham, a teacher, is content with her life. While teaching wasn't her first choice, she needs to stay busy and this job gave her that option. When Graham refuses to be bullied by a student's mother, her services are deemed as no longer needed, which gives her Dad the perfect reason to talk her into taking a trip with him to see the Lannings.

How will Rider and Graham react upon learning they're mates? What's in store for these two due to Sonya's plans that were already set in motion? What abilities will Rider and Graham receive upon mating? What does the future hold for them? Will they get their HEA? What's in store for the Lanning family as a whole? New jobs? More additions to the family as the next generation is born? Who knows...you'll have to read it and see. While I'm sad to see this series end, it was a beautiful way to say good-bye to these beloved characters and I will definitely be rereading them.

And another series come to an end! I'm very sad to see the end of the Lanning brothers but I am happy to see that each finally gets his HEA and find their places in the world.

Rider is the last of the Lanning brothers to find his mate. He's the worrier of the family, but with all the family have been through he has good reason. Although Sonya is gone from the world and can no longer mess with the Lanning family, she has things in motion that will try to hurt he family long after her death.

**"Christ, all he could think of was his brothers telling him that his mate was going to give him a very hard time. It seemed that they were going to be correct and that he was never going to live this down."**

Graham is just trying to survive in a world that was thrust on her. To save her life her father had to get her away from the hands of Sonya. All she's heard about is the Lannings, and to get her father to hush about the amazing family she'll go to visit with him. Never did she know that her mate was the last Lanning brother.

**" Rider, I have no idea where that thought came from, but if you had been any more generous with your body, I might well have died here."**

These two must come together to finally end the terror that Sonya has caused and free the family from a life of misery. Their mating will impact more than just the family, but all the dragons as well.

**"I'm the most blessed man in the world. Not only do I have the best family in the entire world, both of them as a matter of fact, but I have eight of the most wonderful children, a wife that loves me for some reason, and a job that every kid in the world wishes they had. I get to work with dragons and unicorns."**

A Very HEA!

This book is left a lot to be desired in the romance department but because the story line finishes with this book I'm giving it a very good rating.

Rider & Graham (yes that's a woman's name too) story focuses on a lots of endings & not only their mating & the future development s of their mating. Maribel (the mother of all the Lanning men) found another mate in this book, there are dragons in this book, they find out the truth about why their father was abusive (Sonya the evil witch played a part in it) & that the man that was sent to harm Rider & Graham was a long lost relative of Rider.

Graham's father was the warlock that gave Laci all the money, treasures & magic that was in the safe at the antique store & he's still alive. Mostly the story was about tying up loose ends in this series as there wasn't any big good vs bad scenes, there wasn't hardly any sex scenes or romance either in this story. & Rider & Graham's actually mating felt rushed..if this hadn't been the ending of this series I would have rated this book as a pretty good fantasy book & not a PNR book as the only time Rider changed into his leopard was to eat his mate & those scenes were even enough to make this book a erotica shapeshifter romance. All in all I was very disappointed with most of the books in this series as I felt that the romance & erotica was missing.

Well, the last Lanning brother has finally found his mate. Rider's story marks the end of a great series.

Being a witch you'd think Graham could figure out what her father was up to. The last thing she wanted was a mate, yet Rider did turn out to be a surprise....though he was not wanting a mate either. Even though the Lannings evil enemy was long dead, Sonya still seemed to rear her ugly head at every turn. Even with their rocky start the lovers soon come together to fight along side their family.

I was surprised with the name of Riders mate being Graham....not a widely used female name for one thing. This has been an interesting series involving the leopard shifter family and the conclusion does not disappoint. With an exciting end and plenty of romance to boot this was a fun journey and I'm sad to see it come to an end.

Great ending to a fun series.

Rider, wraps up the Lanning's Leap series. Rider and his mate Graham have a special task in freeing the the first dragon, who had been imprisoned by Sonya. The Lanning family has been caught in a magic loop, that has been reset countless times, with Sonya trying to manipulate the out come. This time is different, they finally have a chance to set things right. With the help of Shadow, the man who had the power to destroy them all, he gives the dragons care to Rider And Graham. Through Shadow they learn their father was a victim of Sonya's manipulation, giving them some peace. The series wrapped up nicely, except for Nic. I loved Nic, I wanted for him to find a mate.

This is the final book in the Lanning's Leap Series - Rider is a worrier - he worries about his family's safety. His family's enemy, Sonya, even from the grave is trying to kill his family. It is foretold that when Rider finds his mate that his family could very well die.
Graham only wants to make her Dad happy. She isn't looking for anything more so when her Dad asked her to go to the Lanning's with him she didn't hesitate. Needless to say when she meets Rider he knew that she was his mate. Rider doesn't want this because of the prophecy but the need to have Graham with him is very strong.
Will they get together and stop the prophecy? Another great book by Kathi S Barton - sorry to see this series end as it could easily continue. Would recommend to everyone as a must read.

Wow what a story to end the series on.

Graham is tricked by her father to go to the family they have been trying to save. The family is the Lanning family and Rider is the last man unmated.

Graham is a witch that is independent and strong minded. Rider is not wanting to mate anyone only be on his own helping his family in their businesses.

I loved this story and Kathi's writing. She has a way with words that makes reading her story's easy to imaging what she has put.

The whole series is a must read.

Sensational

This was an excellent story, not only as a book by itself but as the end of a series. I did expect a little fireworks between Graham and Rider, but the way the story is written you don't miss the explosive tempers. The ending chapters; however were my favorite. I loved reading what becomes of the Lanning family years down the road. On a side note, I do wish Nic had found his mate in one of the stories.

I liked the ending to this series but I thought the story could have been better. I felt the there were a few good ideas thrown around in the book that were not fully developed. The story was anticlimatic. It almost seemed as though Barton was just trying to be done with the series in the quickest way possible. I wanted to like Graham and Rider, but I did not feel a connection to them at all. 2.5 stars

This book has to be read, you will not be sorry that you did.
