Therapy Farm: The addictive new small town mystery thriller

Rate this book
Where healing becomes horror... In the latest adrenaline-fueled Baker & Tate thriller, Texas Rangers Ruth Baker and Aaron Tate are thrust into a race against time when a brutal murder at a remote psychiatric retreat unearths something far more terrifying.Hidden beneath the weathered farmhouse at Cross Creek Ranch lies a maze of locked therapy rooms—each one a chamber of psychological warfare. The victims they find inside aren't just traumatized... they're transformed. Indoctrinated. And now, unleashed.

Dubbed 'The Therapist' by the media, the mastermind behind this twisted program has built a network of sleeper patients across Texas—people weaponized through radical “treatment” to act out their darkest impulses. Some are seeking revenge. Others are protecting their healer. All are dangerous.

As Ruth and Aaron close in, the case explodes into a statewide manhunt, forcing them to navigate a deadly gauntlet of attacks, ambushes, and relentless psychological traps. With each move, the enemy strikes harder, forcing the Rangers to question not only who they’re chasing—but what.

Because this time, the threat doesn’t hide in the shadows.

It hides in the mind.

THERAPY FARM is an unrelenting, high-stakes mystery thriller packed with explosive action, psychological warfare, and the trademark emotional punch Baker & Tate fans have come to love. Each book in the Baker & Tate series is a complete story that can be read on its own.

Simply, absolutely exceptional!

Therapy Farm, book 4 in the excellent Baker & Tate crime thriller series, is simply exceptional. The insight into human psychology places this book head and shoulders above other entries in the genre. And that's in addition to the superb narrative quality, perfectly crafted characters and a bevy of surprises you won't see coming. The pacing fits the plot perfectly, creating a truly enjoyable reading experience. The villain is also a standout character, not just a token bad guy, but a true sociopath with the delusions of grandeur that make him a force to reckon with. Even if you've never enjoyed a crime thriller, give Therapy Farm a chance, you will not regret it, just be sure you have time to finish it once you start it or you might be reading until the sun comes up! 5/5 hard earned stars, highly recommended to any thriller aficionado!

Did this get proofread?

The story lines are great but I probably won’t finish this book or read others by Sam Baron. I’ve really tried but the lack of proofreading is appalling. In Book 1, Baker and Tate had worked together 8 yrs, in book 2 only 2 years. While book 1 was better in continuity it was repetitive in telling us how tactical Ruth Baker is. In book 2, David Marshall is David part of the time and James part of the time. Book 3 had mistakes but not glaring ones except one minute Baker is in Texas and things are coming together in her mind, then bam! The criminals are at the Canadian border and Baker and Tate have them surrounded. On to book 4. Now I really like Baker and Tate and I’m invested but I just can’t even finish. Chapter 5 and 6 are the same chapters but 6 finishes the last couple of paragraphs for 5. These are just a few issues. I probably should have made notes.

I’ve never reviewed a book in my life. I won’t pretend to even be good at writing a review, but can someone get with the author and have him make revisions. I love the storylines but I just can’t continue reading and being confused. Oh and by the way I am a voracious reader. On average a 300 to 400 page book every other day all while taking care of 5 small boys for my daughter, helping with their homeschooling, laundry, cooking and swimming and baseball practice 4 days a week and meets and tournaments on the weekends. I want to fly through my books and support independent writers with my kindle account often buying their books to pass on to my other daughter who enjoys reading like I do. I truly want Sam Baron to make it as a writer, I’m pulling for his ideas but he’s got to find someone to read his material before he puts it out there.

Could have been better...Why didnt they check out the doctor first itself to whose hospital caroline was transferred, how did that quick transfer happen etc.. obviously he was showing of tooo much wealth and that didn't ring a warning bell for ruth(who somehow portrayed as a 'predict it all' TYPE)..book dragged on with repeated sentences...And ruth always thinking that cost more than her pay for everything costly in all books...Too much mundane details of a place..

Needs an editor.

Interesting story, a little wordy on establishing how perfect the protagonist is.
The situation in the courthouse is completely unrealistic.
The editor comes in there, and with several scenes that are repeated.
But, fun read and recommended.

Therapy, Really?

This is a real edge of the seat, can't put it down, nail biting story. I haven't seen one of these in a long time.
