Point of Surrender

Rate this book
Debt. Guilt. Death.

Finn Walker has spent years carrying the weight of his regret and guilt with him wherever he went. When he found his home with the Nordic Lords Motorcycle Club, he quickly learned their outlaw lifestyle allowed him to banish his guilt with his fists and guns and no one would stop him. It was freeing, and now, he fits right in.

Friends with Ryker Knight for years, Meg McNeery turns to the one place she knows is safe when she needs safety more than her next paycheck. On the run from a man determined to receive payment for a debt he believes Meg owes, she knows the Nordic Lords Clubhouse in Minnesota is the only place where she and her five-year-old son, Brayden, will be safe.

What Meg doesn’t expect is her instant, magnetic attraction to Finn. And when her running ends with the three of them trapped together…it not only tests Meg’s physical self-control, but it also causes Finn to face his demons.

Finn has sworn he’d never get involved with another woman again, much less a woman with a child, but he can’t stop thinking about Meg, the blue-eyed angel who silences his nightmares.

When Finn’s past fears and present threats collide…will he finally be able to save the woman who needs him?

Or will Meg end up like his ex, Piper? Buried six feet under.

☆I received an ARC from LBTS PR in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!!☆

3-3.5 “contemplative” stars!

Point of Surrender was a hot and cold read for me. It follows mysterious biker Aussie, Finn, and Ryker’s friend—Meg and her son, Brayden.

Meg and Finn’s story is kind of a toss-up in my opinion, full of-- loose ups and downs, Finn letting go and coming to terms of his dark past and his budding feelings for Meg and her son, and a tumultuous deadly target on Meg’s back.

I mean, as for the story in general, I did like it. But, in hindsight it was kind of a slight miss for me as Finn’s inner monologue just felt like many “tortured” or “broken” characters I’ve read in a lot of other reads…"I can’t let her in and yet I want her…I want to break her…make her mine…claim her…”yada yada.

So over all, I liked the characters and was super excited for their love match, but I am a bit in the middle about my honest reception of it all.

Still, a MUST READ within the Nordic Lords MC series!

Finally, Finn's story. Oh, poor sexy, blonde haired, tattooed bad boy Australian biker, Finn. What girl wouldn't like to swoop in and lick his.....wounds from a terrible childhood?

Finn is the mysterious character that I remember from earlier in this series and was hoping to learn more about him. And in this book, we learn everything. He has been through the ringer and is just laying low in the clubhouse trying to make it from day to day. Then, he meets Meg.....who isn't the only one who notices Finn.

"For the love of all American women who crave a man with a sexy accent, you have to sleep with him and let me know what it's like."

Another amazing Nordic Lords book from Stacey Lynn. She provides just the right amount of biker life with real emotions and real characters. And a large dose of heavy breathing scenes.

"You give me a few hours, and I will have you forgetting everything you're worried about. Have you screaming my name and then feeling so relaxed you'll be able to sleep like a baby for weeks."

Some books in a series lack the same effect as the first, but four books in and the Nordic Lords still have me wanting more. ~ Krissy, 5 ( down under ) stars

~~~
Meg just wanted to keep living her life and provide for her son, Brayden, since losing her husband, yet what she didn't realize was that he lived a secret life; one that she now has to pay for. Meg goes to the one person she knows that can help her, Ryker, who is with the Nordic Lords MC, and is someone that has always been there for her, no matter what. As Ryker figures out how to handle Meg's situation, he has Finn stay and look out for her and Brayden's safety.
Finn, sexy Aussie, is one tortured soul that has been to hell and back, but since being with the Nordic Lords MC he's been able to live his life however he wants and it's helped him to forget the past. When told by Ryker that he would be looking after Meg and her kid, Finn knows it's going to be hell on him. He has not shared with anyone what he's gone through but as I read about him I could tell it wasn't pretty, just raw and gritty.
As Meg and Finn are forced to interact with each other there is lots of regular tension, as well as sexual tension that had me groaning, "Don’t fight it, just give into it." They were both hard-headed until one night they couldn't fight it anymore and my goodness, was it HOT!! The one person Finn has a big issue is with Brayden and as I continued reading, it all came out why and my heart went out to Finn.
Even though this is an MC story, I loved how we got to see the "lighter, sweeter" side of an MC. I loved the epilogue and hope I get to read more about Meg and Finn later, and maybe a "little" surprise as well? ~ Kara, 4.5 Stars
I really liked all of these books. Everyone had a great plot to it, alpha bikers and strong female characters. Each story had a different plot with all the characters in each one. At the ending of this one it tells you what happens to all of them years later and I like that. Recommend them all to everyone.
I loved this book, it's probably my favorite out of the series. Finn that boy has an attitude and he is something else, "he shrugged. "Don't mind waking up in the middle of the night when my first view is a pair of legs like yours." Ryker is whipped like all the other men who have women in this MC, "Ryker rolled his eyes. "Yeah, but Faith wants Meg to meet everyone. Whatever," he said, shaking his head. "If Faith wants to throw a damn party, who am I to argue? She likes it." Finn is well endowed and Meg doesn't hesitate to let him know her thoughts on that, "you'll rip me apart," I said, and looked down at his thick d***. He was big. And long. And hell if him jacking himself off wasn't the sexiest thing I'd ever seen." Finn seems to get worked up at some of the worst times especially when Meg's boy comes around after he and Meg have been doing a little playing, "but when I saw Finn turn and not-so-discreetly readjust his erection tenting his shorts, I snorted." I enjoyed this book so, so much.
Book 4 in the brilliant Nordic Lords MC series. Each book can be read as a standalone as they each feature a different couple. However to get the most out of this awesome series and for character development, I suggest you read the series as a whole.
Finn Walker has been somewhat of an enigma in this series. A strong, loyal and reliable member of the Nordic Lords MC. Jasper Bay has become home after leaving Australia and his past behind him. This is Finn's story, it isn't pretty and he is a difficult and damaged man. It will take a special woman to break down his walls.
Meg has had a tough few years. Having lost her husband to an accident on an oil rig several years ago, Meg has been caring for her young son Brayden. With the help of friends of her husband, she as learnt to adapt to life as a single mother. To her shock though, Meg soon found out that her dead husband had been leading a double life. Addicted to gambling, Byron owed A LOT of money to local New Orleans gangster Maurice Moscoe. When the threats increase and threaten the safety of her son she knows it's time to seek help.
Turning to Ryker, her best friend and VP of the Nordic Lords. Meg finds herself fleeing to the safety of Minnesota. What she doesn't expect is to have a grumpy biker as her personal bodyguard. Finn Walker might be hot and he may have awakened something that she thought died alongside Byron, but her brain tells her he is definitely not the type of man that would be good for either her or Brayden. If only she could convince her body of that.
Finn Walker is not a happy man. He is a biker not a damn babysitter. Assigned to protect Meg and her son is not something he wants to do and it has nothing to do with the beautiful woman that has him tied up in knots. Finn hides a tragic past that continues to haunt him, effecting his relationships and his self esteem. Meg is too good for a man that destroys the people he should protect. He feels unworthy of something so perfect and fights the feelings that she stirs in him because of the reminders her and her son give him of events that left him destroyed and a shell of a man.
When Finn and Meg are thrown together will the lust and passion that lingers between them ignite? Will Meg get Finn to open up to her? and most importantly will Finn be able to protect and save her? Or will he destined to fail like he did so many years ago.
Point of Freedom (#3) was such an amazing book, I was seriously worried that Stacey Lynn had set the bar too high, that she would struggle to create a book as emotionally touching as Jaden and Jule's story. I would like to apologise wholeheartedly Stacey for doubting you - Point of Surrender is a bloody triumph. It has the perfect balance that I am coming to expect from Stacey's writing. The grit you expect from an MC book is there but she also adds these 3 dimensional characters that have a real, honest depth to them. The emotion Stacey has poured into the book washes over you throughout and it left me unable to put the book down.
Finn was a real surprise. Any fan of this series knows that beneath it all he is a good guy, just one that holds his cards close to his chest. His back story is tragic and the effect it has had on his life is heartbreaking. Meg is perfect for him. The emotions she brings out in him are beautiful given his damaged past and he in turn gives her a future that she thought she would never have after the death of her beloved husband. This is a beautiful story of 2 people who define themselves by the tragedies of the past but who ultimately fight to find a future together.
I believe this is the final book in this series and that makes me so sad. I have enjoyed every single minute spent in Jasper Bay with the Nordic Lords. Stacey has ensured it goes out with a bang though; if indeed the ride stops here. Another unmissable love story in a MUST READ series. Just Brilliant!
I was given the honor of doing an arc on this wonderful book by an amazing talented author and this is my take on the story:
Meg was grieving over and over again, not necessarily over the loss of her husband, her soul mate but over the man she thought her husband to be. The man she married had led a double life leaving her to pick up the pieces owing a very dangerous man money, money she did not have though she has been making payments monthly toward that debt, even giving the life insurance money as a down payment to keep the monster at bay. Now though, that does not seem to be enough. No, now the monster wanted her and was willing to go to any lengths to have her, even using scare tactics envolving her son. Which now has her running scared to save her son and herself, she is running to the only friend she trust to save their lives. Ryker is part of the Nordic Lords and she knows their MC is not always into legal things, but he is her friend, he and his wife Faith are the only people she trust and that is where the road is going to take her.....safety.
Finn is a broken man, left Australia after losing his girl and his son. He killed the SOB resposible for ruining his life and he would do it again. He reinvented himself the minute his plane landed in America, and he would take his family and secrets to the grave. Never would he let anyone know the monsters that lurk inside of him. That was his, and his alone. Even his brothers knew something happened, but never what he only told Liv about his son to help her through her loss. Not all of it only some and he was not going to open up those wounds they would stay in his dreams.
Then Finn is put on babysitting duty, he is to keep Meg and Braydon safe while the MC is trying to find the threat to her and her son and he is to keep them safe. He doesn't know how he is suppose to keep them safe, apparently if the past has any merit that is not his thing. He has not ever been able to protect, but for his brother he is going to do everything he can. First time Meg and Finn see each other they an enamored with each other and cannot seem to keep their eyes off of each other. Then they are forced to spend time with each other, Finn has a hard time being around Brayden and doesn't try pretending at times to even like him. Meg and he have dissagreements over it. Spending time together is breaking their walls down a little at a time, but once Finn realizes it he puts it up as fast as he can. Over time things happen that send the three into hiding keeping Meg and Brayden safe is top priority. Finn slowly starts coming around with Brayden and he and Meg finally give in to temptation. By day they work on the cabin, go fishing play with Brayden by night they become intimite and enjoy each other completely. They do the dance of should we or shouldn't we, but keep telling each other it's just a fling. Then it becomes an emotional roller coaster that has everyone riding thin rails. One day a prospect goes behind everyones back with a plan and he fills Meg in on this plan, together they set out to bring down the man after her. They tell nobody. A bad idea that thankfully turns right at the last minute with some complications in the meantime.
When they make it home, they go their seperate ways missing each other. Both being stubborn and hard headed not wanting to go to the other they go awhile without seeing each other until the old ladies step in and talke Meg into taking the first step. She does, but im going to end there. I do not want to give away all of the story because I could keep going. Do not miss this amazing book by Stacey Lynn 5 stars....worth every wait and $ you could spend. Thank you for sharing this book with me. I hope I did you justice.
I have read all of the books in this series and I would classify this one as my favorite. I really enjoyed this book and really wanted to rate it 5 stars. We met Finn in the previous books. He's a hot, alpha, Aussie running from his past> He deals with his past tragedies through anger and isolation. All the women want him but he doesn't want any kind of attachments. We finally learn the details of Finn's past and can understand why he has built such a barrier around his heart. Meg is also a character from the previous books. Meg turns to the Nordic Lords to protect her young son and herself from a bad man who wants Meg in repayment for her deceased husbands's gambling debts.
What I really liked:
I loved the romance between Finn and Meg. The author slowly built the attraction between them and gave us some really hot sex scenes. Finn is absolutely a walking, talking Aussie sex on a stick. Meg is strong is some ways but she wants to lean on Finn to protect them.
I loved the slow build of the relationship between Finn and Meg's four year old son Braydon. Anytime you give me a strong alpha male falling under the spell of a child, I'm a sucker right there. Finn tries to ignore Brayden because he's still not over the heartbreak of his past. But he breaks down and I loved the interaction and possessiveness he showed with Braydon. He didn't just fall in love with Meg, he fell for the child too.
The romance was a 5 star for me.
What bothered me:
Like I said I have read all of the books in this series. Meg shows up in Point of Redemption (Nordic Lords MC, #2) by Stacey Lynn along with Ryker, a major character in this book. Meg's deceased husband was a friend of Ryker's and when he died, Ryker took on the part of caring for Meg and the baby (at that time). No sexual relationship but Meg was so dependent and needy for Ryker that it caused problems with Ryker and Fiath's romance. But in this book, 4 years later, we find that Meg was contacted by the bad guy when her husband died and told her that her husband owed lots of money for unpaid gambling debts. Meg gets a low paying job, which the books says hardly pays her living expenses, and is paying the bad guy back a little money each month. She never tells Ryker or anyone else about it. Then, wham, four years later the bad guys says you've got two weeks to give me $50k or I'm taking you and using you like I want. It was just hard to me to believe this went on for 4 years before the bad guy comes after her.
Like I said, the romance is 5+. Most of the book is really focused on the romance and the time that Finn/Meg/Braydon spend together while Finn is protecting them. I recommend the book to anyone looking for a good romance and characters (Finn) that will hurt your heart, make you smile and get you hot and bothered, then this one's for you.
This is the fourth book in the Nordic Lords series, they are standalones but i recommend reading the first three first so you will know all the characters stories. This book is Finn and Meg's story.
Finn is a troubled man who can't let his rough past go. By the age of seventeen he has fought for his life, lost the girl he swore to protect and lost his newborn son. He left Austrialia to put all that behind him but the nightmares wouldn't go away. He found his way to Jasper Bay and the Nordic Lords where he finally found a family but that still didn't help the pain he held.
Meg is a friend of Ryker. VP of the Nordic Lords. When her and her sons life are threatened by someone her late husband owed money to she left New Orleans heading to Jasper Bay, knowing Ryker would keep them safe.
While Ryker tries to figure out how to get the man responsible for the threat he assigns Finn to watch and protect Meg and Braydon her son.The probelm with this for Finn is he is very attracted to Meg but he feels he is to damaged for her, and being around her son reminds him of what he lost.
Can Finn and Meg put the past behind them? Can their attraction for each other and what they are starting to feel, help heal them?
I have been waiting on Finns's story. Learning a little about his past from one of the other books, I was really excited for his book. My heart hurt for this man, Stacey Lynn did a absolutely wonderful job with this book. It is definetly a must read.
4 Star Review by Jen Skewes
Point of Surrender is the fourth and final installment in the Nordic Lords MC Series. This is Finn’s story. You know the sexy Australian who makes veery girl melt with his accent, but yet he is a complete mystery to everyone. He is quiet and has plenty of demons from his past that he keeps hidden very well. He is a complete mystery and I could not wait to find out what happened to Finn to make him the way he is.
We first met Meg in Point of Redemption. She is the wife of Ryker’s best friend Byron and when he passed away Ryker promised to take care of Meg and their son Brayden. But Ryker moved back home when the love of his life needed his help. So right now it is just Meg and her Brayden. After her husband’s death she found out some things about him that completely shocked her and it is because of those things that her and her son are suffering. She has managed to keep it all to herself, refusing to ask anyone for help. But when her and her son are put in danger she knows that it is time to call Ryker and ask for help.
Finn escaped his life in Australia and became a member of the Nordi Lords MC club. This is his family. He would do anything for his brothers. He basically keeps to himself, not really being able to open up to anyone, he doesn’t do relationships or love or any of that stuff. He uses the club whores when needed and it is nothing more than sex. Until Meg comes along. There is something about her and he can feel the attraction but he knows he needs to stay as far away from her as possible. Plus she has a kid, which brings up too many memories for him. But staying away isn’t easy when your brothers ask you to keep watch over her and her son and to keep them away from danger until they figure out what their next move is.
As Finn and Meg spend more time together the physical attraction and chemistry between the two of them is crystal clear. But Finn knows that he cannot give Meg what she needs and deserves. He knows that he will just ruin her in the end. Meg is afraid to take things further with Finn but at the same time while her brain may be saying no her body is telling her yes. They both give in to their desires and cross that line. But the question is, how long before one of them gets hurt?
Finn was a bit complicated an a bit of a mystery. And while at times he acted like a complete ass to both Meg and her kid there was something about him that I liked. Maybe because I knew deep down underneath that steel wall was a heart. And little by little you saw him opening up. Even if it was in little ways, like laughing at something that Meg’s son said or did, taking Meg out to spend some time with her, just the small things. But each time things seemed to go a little further he seemed to take another step back. I wanted to see what he was fighting and why. And when you do you can completely understand why he is afraid to love Meg. He had a horrible time growing up and saw and did things that no child should have to do. But this is his second chance and in order to get that second chance and move on and be happy he needs to let go of the past. And he has to believe that he deserves it.
I love this series and am sad to see it end. I loved that we got to play catch up with our favorite bikers and their ladies. I loved the instant friendship that Meg formed with Faith, Olivia and Jules. They were there for her to give her advice and immediately accepted her as family. Meg went through a lot between losing her husband and now having to deal with her husband’s poor decisions when he was alive. But she was strong both for herself and her son and I admired her strength. Her and Finn were perfect for each other. They both needed each other in a way and were there for each other. There wasn’t a lot of emotion between the two of them or words to express their feelings but I don’t think you needed it. I still felt the connection between them. Finn is a hard nut to crack and a man of few words and emotions, but Meg was the one woman who even had a shot at cracking him. I loved the epilogue and the perfect conclusion to this series. Another great job by Stacey Lynn.
It is the bittersweet end. Point if Surrender is the last installment of the Nordic Lords MC series and a fabulous ending at that. From the very first book, we have seen Finn in all his sexy, humorous Australian glory and this book takes us to a whole other side of him we never knew. Point of Surrender focuses on the relationship between Finn and Meg and the MC’s work to get her our of the trouble her late husband left her in, while protect Meg and get son, Brayden, from harm. Like all the other books in the Nordic Lords MC series, this story is gritty, rough, dangerous, and perfect.
It was interesting to see the other side of Finn. For the majority of the series we know very little about what his past is like but we see his humor and loyalty displayed so well. He defuses tension and protects the club. When he meets Meg and Brayden, it is like we are looking at a stranger. As I was reading this book I kept wondering if he was ever so brooding and angry in the other stories but all I could remember was a joking man and an incredible fighter. That alone made me so much more intrigued to finally understand who Finn is and what happened in his past to create this harsh response to Meg and Brayden.
Meg is a great character. She is a mix of powerful emotions yet she holds herself together in the chaos. She is kind and fiercely protective of her son. She is motivated to find a way out but completely exposed and vulnerable without the MC’s help. She is terrified yet determined to win. Her world revolves around Brayden, an adorable kid who brings a smile to everyone around him. Meg’s character swings across the full gamut of emotions but she never comes across as unstable or crazy, just a woman who feels deep and loves true.
The chemistry and emotion between Finn and Meg is off the charts. The attraction is blatantly obvious but the conflicting emotions create a push and pull that leaves them both frustrated. When they give into the chemistry their connection is hot but fleeting. Finn has too many past grievances to truly offer his heart and soul to anyone no matter the pull to do so. The highs and lows fostered so many emotional responses from both characters that it leaves your head reeling yet you root for them to finally put the past behind them and start fresh.
The danger and intrigue was what I had come to expect from this series. It wasn’t as drawn out as the other books. The looming threats are continuous but the moment of danger and conflict hits hard and fast. I didn’t realize it was there until the moment came and then it was done. The tension of the danger is so well written that you feel it as you read. One of my favorite things about this series is the theme of community and family. I love how Meg and Brayden were seamlessly woven into the MC world and accepted as one of their own. Her connection and friendship with Ryker is her ticket in but she creates a place with her son that is all her own.
Point of Surrender is the final mystery piece to who Finn is and what happened in his past. Fans of the series will be thrilled to finally have the answers to who he is. As with the rest of the series, this book is filled with intrigue, romance, and blazing lust. Stacey Lynn has given the fans a great ending to a wonderful series!
There comes a point where everyone has to choose what they are going to surrender to, and for Finn Walker, the mysterious, laid back Aussie, all he's been doing for years is surrendering to the past and all of its pain, regret, and what ifs. He's kept himself closed off to almost everyone in the Nordic Lords Motorcycle Club, lying and hiding about his time in Australia and his upbringing. It's not part of his life that he's willing to rehash because the scars are too deep and the memories are seared on his heart and his mind.
But Finn's surrendered enough to the darkness, and it's about time he lets in the light to help ease the torment he feels on a consistent basis, and what better way to break those shackles than a woman who has more purity and goodness inside of her than anyone he's ever met, Meg McNeery. But Finn's memories hold him hostage regardless of what Meg is willingly offering to Finn, and his abrasive treatment of both Meg and his son, Brayden, make it hard for her to see anything more happening between them but really amazing sex, and when it's all said and done, that's just not enough for Meg.
Finn's going to have to decide if he's going to continue to submit to the demons that plague him or let the one woman in who might just be worth surrendering to in a much more satisfying way.
Finn's story is the one I've been waiting for...ever since meeting the quiet, behind the scenes Aussie, I've wanted to know his story, and man is his past the things nightmares are made of. He's definitely a tortured soul who has himself so twisted up that he can't see past the searing pain of everything he lost all those years ago. He's so hot and cold with Meg and Brayden that, like Meg, I had whiplash trying to decipher all of the mixed messages and weary expressions.
I'm still not sure what I think about Meg, and I guess that's because I didn't feel like readers were truly given a complete view of who she is. We've always seen her as the woman Ryker vowed to protect, and it was hard to see her as herself through much of the story because even with getting her point of view, I never really grasped onto what made her tick, at least not completely. I understand she loves her son and would do anything to protect him, but as far as Meg, the woman, I'm still a bit perplexed.
Regardless of my need for a bit more character development, Point of Surrender and the entire Nordic Lords MC series is MUST READ. The storylines are full of suspense, steam, and angst, leaving readers hot and bothered in more ways than one. It's a fantastic collection of biker stories that while deal with a bit of the darkness of a MC, it also moves beyond it and examines human nature and what people are willing to do to protect and claim the people who they love. I definitely recommend one-clicking this series and meeting the badass Nordic Lords bikers and their kickass old ladies!
**I received an ARC for an honest review.**
This is the fourth and final book in Stacey Lynn's Nordic Lords MC series and OH MY NORDIC LORDS have I been impatiently waiting for Finn's story! It was so worth the wait too!
So if you are like me and have been sucked into this series right from the beginning then you met Finn in Point of Return just like me and just like me you probably became a bit obsessed with the sexy Aussie. Well, each and every time a new book was announce in this series I was always hoping it would be Finn's story, but every time it wasn't...until now! Don't get me wrong I LOVED all of the books between and it just made it all the better when I finally got to devour Finn's story.
Right from the beginning I was wondering what exactly happened to Finn for him to flee Australia and start a new life in a new country with an MC. So finally getting Finn's story and knowing what happened when he was younger really made things fall into place about his character. I really love his character too especially when he gets moody and broody because he can't fight his attraction to Meg. Through all the other books I was wondering who it would be to catch his attention. I wanted to know who was going to bring him to his knees and I loved Meg.
Meg is such a great character. I love her devotion to her son and the fact that she is doing everything to keep him safe, even when it means leaving her life behind and having to ask for help. It took a lot for her strong and independent character to have to finally ask Ryker for help, but what she didn't quite expect was the fact that Ryker's help comes with the help of his entire MC.
I really enjoyed these two characters getting to know one another. Their sexual chemistry and tension was off the charts. I also enjoyed the fact they were both effected so much by each other. I also really liked the way Finn eventually grew to care about 'the kid' even though he really tried to fight it. This story unfolded nicely...okay well not that nice because it is an MC romance novel...I liked that Stacey stuck with the same grit and grime throughout the series with this book.
This is a definite MUST read if you love MC romance. It has a little bit of everything, but also keeps all the good bits without making it unbelievable or just too much. If you haven't read this series then I suggest that you begin with Point of Return and don't stop until Point of Surrender.
Finn has always been an intriguing character to me. As the mysterious, taciturn Nordic Lord, I knew his story was going to be full of pain.
Finn kept to himself. His Nordic Lords MC brothers knew his present in Jasper Bay, Minnesota, but he never talked about his past in Australia. Ever. At least not until he hinted at part of his pain to Olivia in Point of Return, and even then it was a vague description of his past.
Meg fears for her safety and that of her son. Years after the death of her husband in an oil rig accident, she is still paying for his mistakes. Running to Jasper Bay and Ryker’s protection is the only thing she can think of to keep her son safe, but it becomes clear that even running that far won’t keep the danger away for long.
Tasked with protecting Meg and Braydon, Finn finally must face his past and put his demons to rest. Or will those memories forever haunt his decision making?
The back and forth between these two, as they are secluded in a tiny hunting cabin made for both entertainment and frustration. Finn is so used to keeping his past closed off from everyone that his inability to talk about himself shoots himself in the foot several times. And though Meg has no illusions about the status of their relationship, she finds herself wishing for more.
Readers get glimpses of Faith and Ryker, as they are the anchors that pull Meg to Jasper Bay. But there are also plenty of bits and pieces from Olivia, Daemon, Jules and Jaden, especially in the extended epilogue that spans quite a way into the future after the end of the regular chapters.
In the danger and tension there was also a lot of drama, both of the characters making and because of the situation. There were a few times when the drama felt over the top, but as each installment of this series has been filled with similar craziness, it fit with this group.
There was danger, tension, and fear. But there was also hope, lightness, and understanding. These two had more in common than can be seen on the surface, and the parallels between their situations offer each the unique perspective of understanding. There were enough similarities, that even through all the differences between them, they felt the same things, faced the same fears. And events were making Finn relive his fears, even as Meg faced her own.
This is the fourth instalment of Stacey Lynn's Nordic Lords MC series and picks up straight from the point left at Olivia and Daemon's wedding in Point of Freedom when Faith received a frantic phone call from Meg, Rykar's close friend from his time away from his MC life when he worked on the oil rigs.
Meg has been dealt a tough hand in life; widowed four years previously, left with a young child and to then learn days later her deceased husband Bryon had a secret "I had lost him twice: once in death, and once in the memories of the man who made me question if I ever knew him at all." This secret has left Meg with no choice but to seek Rykar's help as when this secret threatens her most valued treasure she'll do anything to keep it safe.
The Nordic Lords MC, with Rykar as their VP, offer her protection from Maurice Moscoe and his vile, twisted intentions. But as his reach gets even closer Meg can't afford to lose focus even when one of her protectors makes her feel something she hasn't for many years; lust and passion.
Finn Walker, the illusive, dark eyed, tattooed Australian Biker is the man sworn to protect Meg, but finds something so pure, beautiful and kind too good for him to resist. He sees himself as dangerous, tainted and unworthy. He's damaged from a past so tragic he can't let anyone get close "Never had a taste of beauty. Never wanted it. I'm the kind of man who would destroy it." He keeps his true feelings closed off from Meg to protect her, but will that do more harm than good?
What happens when fate throws two damaged souls together, both scared and scarred from loosing loved ones tragically...Will they open their hearts to a second chance at love or run away to protect themselves from more possible heartbreak?
With threats looming for Meg ever closer will Finn be able to do something he wasn't able to do in his past "Save her. Protect her," or will his ghosts from the past be another problem Meg has to be haunted by too...
I got swept up in another gritty, full throttled adventure by Stacey Lynn. It's a tale that follows Meg and Finn but also encompasses previous couples who always have plenty to add to the story and some new additions such as Johnny, he's definitely one biker to watch. Point of Surrender illustrates the true meaning of family and friendship.
Meg has had a tough time after her husband died working on an oil rig. She's been left devastated after losing the love of her life and father of her child, but things only get worse when a man comes to collect a large debt owed to him by Meg's husband. In addition to collecting the money he feels Meg now owes to him, this man is intent on collecting Meg to use for his own pleasure and threatens to kill her son if she doesn't comply. Ryker, a close friend of Meg's late husband has been helping to support and take care of her and when she finds herself in serious danger she runs to Ryker for the protection she may receive from him and his MC. Finn is put in charge of keeping Meg safe, but in addition to being attracted to Meg, Finn finds that being around Meg and her son is causing him to face some serious demons from his past.
Meg is an easy character to connect to and empathize with. She's essentially lost her husband twice. Once in the devastating accident took his life, and again when she comes to find out that he wasn't the man she thought he was. She's been struggling to pay off his debts, but when the stakes turn even more dangerous she has to turn to Ryker for help. It was nice reconnecting with Ryker, Faith, and the other characters from previous books in this series. Finn is a big sexy Australian biker with some serious issues in his past keeping him from opening up to anyone. It is hard to see him pushing away any chance at happiness while still struggling with so much pain and guilt. There is a lot of danger, angst, and excitement as these characters struggle to protect one another and finally give themselves over to the kind of love and relationships that they deserve. I have enjoyed the chaos, drama, action, and sexiness that this series has provided and I will gladly read more by this author in the future.
Point of Surrender is the 4th book in the Nordic Lords MC Series and is by far, my favourite of the Series!
We finally get to read Finn’s story and you will remember him previously as the blonde and broody Aussie who never spoke too much and has always been a bit of mystery, especially to his brothers who know nothing of his past. Well his past is revealed and it’s terribly sad and he is severely scarred from it. So much so that when he is asked to watch over Ryker and Faith’s friend and her son when they come looking for help that he turns into an even bigger asshole, especially to her son. You can completely understand why though when you read what he has been through.
Meg has had enough to deal with the death of her Husband years earlier and being left alone to raise their son and when she finds out her Husband is not who she thought he was, she knows her and her son’s life is about to become very messy. When a very dangerous man decides he wants HER instead of money in exchange to settle a debt, Meg knows the only person that will be able to help her and her son is her good friend Ryker and his MC.
Running to Ryker, she comes face to face with the gorgeous and sexy biker Finn, who Faith has constantly gushed over. She feels a sexual attraction like no other when he is close and she knows he is hiding demons, especially the way he is hot and cold with her and her son.
When the three of them are stowed away in a Cabin for her safety, tempers flare, sexual needs and wants awaken and all you can do is hold on to your panties and enjoy the steamy ride that is Finn and Meg’s story!
After reading the end of Jaden and Jules book, I really didn't know if I would read this one. I didn't like Meg. At. All. and I hated the way Ryker constantly seemed to put her before Faith, it annoyed me to no end. So I figured Meg would cause me to hate this book, but I was glad I went ahead with it because finally Ryker didn't go ape shit about helping Meg by doing something leaving Faith alone to run and protect Meg. While Meg had stupid moments she seemed much less needy in this one. I know that sounds crazy since she ran to the MC for help but she wasn't a whiny ass like I figured she would be when she found her self in that kind of trouble.
I have to say though that Finn made this book for me, I liked him with Meg but he alone made this book awesome. Put the two together and it was a great read. I was super irritated with the stupid stunt Meg pulled thanks to Johnny and then the way she acted with Finn after the repercussions of that stupid stunt bit her in the ass.
Meg was really stupid there for a bit but thankfully she got her head out of her ass and set things right. I don't know if this is the last in this series or not but with that epilogue it could certainly end here with a great ending. The only thing missing in this epilogue was so I will just have to assume that happened. But I will keep an eye for any more books in this series. Since this author managed to make me like a character that I previously hated, not many authors have managed that feat.
Absolution
In this final installment of the Nordic Lords MC you get the delicious tale of Finn and Meg. If you're like me and familiar with this series then you couldn't wait to get your hand on the delectable Finn. He intrigued me from the start of this wonderful series and I am so glad that he got his HEA. Finn has always been the strong, reliable, brooding type, but when he meets Meg he starts to see in color again. Meg shows off her strength in this book. This is a woman who will do anything for her son. She knows that the past will never go away, we can't change it, we can't run away from it and that somewhere down the line you need to let it go and she tries to get Finn to see that instead of being swallowed by his demons. These characters are tormented and broken in such a way, that the emotions fly right off the pages. When these two come together, the intense, animalistic, primal chemistry that they have for each other just blew me away and gave me goosebumps. I think my kindle was literally smoking it was so HOT!! At the end of this story, I felt like I was holding my breath the entire time, and finally I just let it out and all the emotions started crashing down on me. It's so wonderful and divine when a book can do that to you. I'm sad to see that this will be the end of this fantastic journey with the NORDIC LORDS MC but I'm hoping the author will decide against that and give us more, because there is so much potential for more great stories out of these fascinating, raw, and complex cast of characters.
What is it about these big, tough bikers with tortured pasts that makes me want to wrap them in a hug? Here’s another one for me to want to embrace.
Meg and her son, Brayden, flee when threatened by the man her late-husband still owes money to. They stay with friends, Ryker and Faith, but are given protection in the form of Finn.
Ahhh, Finn. The poor tortured soul in this story who refuses to talk about his past with anyone. His life started the day he got off a plane in New York from Australia. The man who spends the first few days of ‘babysitting duty’ with a scowl for Meg, but especially for Brayden. It’s not a bad temper thing for ‘the kid’, rather a reminder of what he’s lost in his past.
It’s funny that I paid little attention to Meg’s growth as a character, but Finn’s was obvious and huge! (along with other parts of him…) He works through so damn much and fights it every step of the way, too.
For my mind, Stacey Lynn has done a great job and has made me want to go back and read the rest of the series. The stupid thing with this, is that I’ve promoted each of the Nordic Lords series on my blog from the start but never had a chance to read them. Despite not remembering requesting the ARC for this, I’m so damn glad I did as I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and though it was able to be read as a standalone book, I really look forward to cracking open my boxed set of the first three!
This was an absolutely fantastic book. I finished it in one sitting. I just couldn't seem to put it down. It just the right amount of action paired with a perfect romance story. I love when two broken people finally work out their issues and are able to come together as whole people. Besides that, I've been waiting to find out more behind Finn's story. This book did not disappoint me.
Meg has had it rough lately. The man she loved, married, and had a child with, died, leaving her to be a single mom. To make matters worse, turns out he wasn't the man she thought he was. He left her with a huge debt to pay and no money left to pay it. Now, she's scared. The men she owes money to have threatened her and her son so she turned to the only place she felt she could, the Nordic Lords.
Meg and Finn are thrown together. Only one person knows what Finn has been through before joining the club. Being stuck with Meg brings up all kinds of demons but he has to deal with them or share his past. I really could sympathize with him. To him, he was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Share his past and get off babysitting duty, or suck it up and spend time with Meg and her son, making him face his fears head on.
Meg and Finn's story is anything but easy. They both need to learn to trust again. They both need someone to help support them emotionally. Basically, they both need each other.
If you like MC books, this series is one you do not want to miss.
Woohoo!!!! Finally I get Finn's story!!!! Our hot sexy Aussie and mysterious biker with a haunted past. I have been waiting for his story from the very beginning!! What has happened to him that caused him to close up so tight....that is, until he lays eyes on Meg. Will Meg be the one to break down his walls or will he continue to stay the way he is...closed off to everyone?
After losing her husband Meg's world crumbles but she soon learns her husband had secrets and once those secrets come to her front door and threatens not only her life but her sons she runs to the only person she know that can keep them safe, her friend and VP of the Nordic Lords Ryker. While Ryker is trying to find the threat he assigns Finn to watch over and protect Meg and her son Braydon. The attraction is instant. Finn doesn't want to feel the feelings he has bc he know he will only hurt them and cause them pain but he can't stay away from Meg....will he finally open up to her? Will they be able to help each other heal and have a life together? Will Finn be able to keep Meg and Braydon safe when the past comes back to collect?
I can't believe this is the last back in this series....I don't want it to end yet but I loved every single second!!! This is an absolute must read series that I highly recommend to everyone!!! Amazing job Stacey Lynn!! I can't wait to see what you have in store for us next!!
Oops sorry my review is a couple of days late. But anyways can I say I was super excited about reading Finn's story and had been waiting forever to read it... Ok that's a bit dramatic, lol. But it definitely had been since I read Jaden's story. For those of you who don't know I actually started this series backwards and started reading it with Jaden's story. But than went and got the other two books and read them. But Finn's character grabbed my attention in the other books and I just loved him and couldn't wait to read his story.
    I knew from the other books that Finn's story was going to be heartbreaking. It was nice to finally get Finn's full back story. And boy did it make me love Finn even more. You could feel the attraction between Finn and Meg.
    I really liked Meg's character in this book. And I have to say it took me a few minutes in reading it to figure out this was Meg from Ryker's book. Meg's strong and independent and a bit sassy.
    I really loved reading this book and really loved how author Stacey Lynn tied in all the characters that have been in other books in this series. Making it feel like it has come full circle.
   I would definitely give this book 5 out of 5 stars and would recommend it.
Who doesn't love a rugged bad boy biker with sexy Australian accent and a broken past that makes him hard. Well Fin does not disappoint in being the jerk to Meg who running from the danger.
Meg who years earlier lost her husband but months after losing him she says she lost his memory when a man comes to her wanting to collect on her late husband debt. But as the years past she struggles to pay it but when it all comes crumbling down. The debt needs to be paid in full or she will have to put up more than she willing too. But when Meg fears for her safety and that of her son she goes to visit her old friend Ryker who in the VP of Nordic Lords. But trying to keep her safe will be more than the club can take on.
Finn who is assigned her babysitting duty is not to excited to sit around with Meg and her son. It brings back to many memories her had years to harden his heart too. But as the days go on and the danger gets worse. Can these two stay from each other.
I am a sucker for the bad boy jerk and Finn fits that to a T. Meg really wants to stay away but with a men like Finn that truly larger than life she cant. But she fears for her life and her son.
I truly enjoyed this Meg and Finn story. I look forward to any other side story's that come from this seriesRead and Reviewed by Renee Entress's Book Blog
Oh, Finn! I have been waiting for Finn's story. I knew from meeting him in the other Nordic Lords MC books that his story was going to be amazing. Oh, how right I was. If you have read the first three books, you NEED to read this right now. If you haven't, start with Point of Return. The first three books are in a box set. The whole series is a must read.
Finn is rough and raw....his story tells us how beautifully damaged he is. Meg enters the MC scene with trouble chasing her and right into Finn's arms.
“Name's Finn," the man made of gorgeously carved marble said. "You must be Meg.”
Finn stood out to me in all of the books. He screams sexy alpha. Olivia made me laugh out loud when she tells Meg, “For the love of all American women who crave a man with a sexy accent, you have to sleep with him and let me know what it’s like.”
The story is beautifully written. Finn and Meg struggle with the cravings they have beyond their physical connection. The pull from both of them towards and away from each other is amazing. Every beautiful word kept me captivated. It also made me want to read the entire series again. Thank you, Stacey Lynn, for a great series.
I was gifted a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
This was Finn and Meg's story. Each book can be read as a S/A, however, I would suggest that you start at the beginning of the series and work your way through as we still see old couples in each book (P.S you wont regret it as this is a good solid MC series.
We finally get to find out what makes Finn tick and I wasn't disappointed. His past certainly wasn't pretty and has molded the man he has become. Welcome Meg who seems to be the one to finally break through to him. I really liked Meg, she had a lot more about her than I ever could have imagined after Ryker's story. Together they were amazing and hot as hell.
One of the things that I love about this series is that Stacey doesn't shy away from the gritty MC side of things but we also get solid story's and romances and when reading these, the female leads are as strong if not strong characters than their male counterparts.
All in all, I really enjoyed Point Of Surrender and would happily recommend the Nordic Lords series.
I knew Finn's story would break my heart, but had no idea to what extent his pain would affect me.
This is the fourth book in the Nordic Lords MC series, and while it can be read as a standalone it definitely helps if you read the first three to know the players.
Meg is in trouble, and going to Ryker for help is her only option left. Packing up what she can and heading north, into the protection of the Nordic Lords and specifically Finn. Meg's POV goes a long way to redeem her in my mind. She was very frustrating when we first meet her in Ryker's book.
Finn, oh accent, tatted and delicious Finn. The calm he finds with Meg and Brayden- just amazing. But he fights it tooth and nail, setting himself up to lose the best thing that has happened to him in maybe forever.
Love their chemistry, also the tender moments that they share.
This is my favorite story in the series by far, the healing from a life long pain, the love that surprises them all and the honesty that allows them to build a life- perfect.
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, suspense, twists and heartbreak.
This is Meg and Finn’s story. After her husband died Meg found out he was not the person she thought he was. When a man comes after her and tells her she not only needs to pay him money he wants her she runs to an old friend Ryker. Ryker is part of a MC and asks Finn to keep a watch on Meg and her son and keep them safe. Finn has demons in his past that have kept him away from kids. He now has to fight those demons in order to protect the one woman who get under his skin and her son. Being trapped together day after day they grow to like each other but Finn runs hot and cold and Meg is tired of it. When the man who is after her catches up will Finn be able to save her? If he can will she even want him around with all his demons weighing him down?
I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this series.
What a wonderful story! This book has everything action, suspense, danger, romance, anger and love. The author has taken two completely different people who are struggling with similar emotions and thrust them together in a fantastic story that will be remembered for a long time. I was thrilled, to get to read this was a pleasant gift. Stacey Lynn is an incredible story teller, her unique writing skills left me wanting to know more about Nordic Lords MC. She has a way of drawing the reader in and keeping us entertained and sitting on the edge of my seat eagerly awaiting the turn of the next page to see what happens next. A definite 5 star read!
