When I set my sights on investigating an outlaw motorcycle gang, I wanted to write a groundbreaking story that would course-correct my journalism career. I didn’t expect the three things that 1: Being stranded on the side of the road with a steaming car and dead cell. 2: Being preyed upon by a gang of leather-clad outlaws in a bar. 3: Being rescued by a dangerously handsome biker who’s determined to do whatever to keep me safe.
Dreyson “Hellraiser” Mooreis the gray-eyed vice president of Hell’s Savages. The first time in his presence, I can tell he’s got a thing for playing hero, even if he doesn’t. He says he’s everything I should steer clear of, but since I’m being kept under his protection and sleeping in his bed, he’s hard to avoid. Soon, we find ourselves entwined in a whirlwind love story that takes our hearts by storm. Immersed in his world, he’s changing me in ways I never anticipated, leading me down a path I never planned.
Mercy is riding a high, after getting the evidence needed to complete the article that will revive her journalism career. Then her damn car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, and no cell signal. Out of options she has to put her feet to work and walk to civilization. Ecstatic when she sees a lighted building she walks into a bar, a biker bar, where the men are not friendly.
Dre, staking out his rival MC's bar, sees an unsuspecting woman walk in. He knows the evil things that the men are capable of, and he knows he needs to save this woman, even if it means breaking his cover. While coming to Mercy's aid, Dre sees how beautiful she is, yet feisty. He immediately feels something but doesn't know what to do with those feelings. Mercy is intrigued by this man who looks gruff and dangerous, but she has an inkling that he is just a teddy bear. Forced to stay at the clubhouse with Dre to protect her, they butt heads with differing opinions of what should be done regarding the situation they found themselves in. At the same time chemistry is brewing between the two.
The story happened quickly, and it felt like pieces were missing. Why were the Outlaws doing such heinous acts? Was it just for the money? Were they just evil men, or both? Was there any other connection between Cannon and Dre? Or did they just hate each other due to the circumstances of their parentage? Was Rex playing both sides? Through it all Dre and Mercy found love. Okay read.
couldn’t finish the book. The books in this series doesn’t even read like an MC. Also, there wasn’t any chemistry with the characters. The manufactured argument was just stupid
I really enjoyed this book - the opening chapter grabbed my attention and I couldn’t put it down. The queen of plot twists has done it again! I knew something was up with Dre and Cannon, but the length Dre went to protect Mercy was admirable and swoon-worthy. My boy was down bad - as he should have been! Lighters up for Prez.. 😭🥺I loved this one! 💕
Yessss omg I was so intrigued and in love with this story! I didn't ❤️ want it to end! 🥰🥰😍😍Dre aka hell raiser and mercy chemistry was off the chain yesss I love how he protected and love her whole heart he didn't want anyone in her space to try to harm her ❤️ and the abandment of his mother ❤️ leaving him at an early age can definitely be heart breaking and love of his father protection and teaching him about life obstacles was everything Dre had a lot on his shoulders he was good man with good intentions I laughed cried shouted this was an amazing 👏🏾 beautiful adventurous on edge love story I loved it 🥰 one of my favorite couple yesssss🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🫶🏽 and Dre was definitely book Bae 😍 🥵 something about a man with grey eyes and dreadlocks! I love this series, K.L. Hall did her thing 👏🏾 love her books! I would love to ❤️ see a wedding bonus from this beautiful couple 😉❣️❣️❤️
This book with Dre and Mercy was a really good read from beginning to end. Mercy had Dre in his feelings from the start and brought out his protective spirit that I loved. Even though he was feeling her, Dre was scared because he had a fear of being abandoned like he experienced as a child which made me feel for him. The suspense and drama had me anxious about what was next. The connection and chemistry between Dre and Mercy was undeniable. Cannon was pure evil, and the twist involving him was a total shocker. This novella was another great book from Ms. Hall!!
“Hellraiser” was very promising in the beginning but somewhere along the way, things just started feeling rushed. I think if the word count was higher (or some scenes were removed), things would have had time to settle and be more impactful.
I’m someone who usually finishes a book in a day. With “Hellraiser” being only about 100 pages, I just knew it would take me like two hours, at most, to get through it. I’ll just say I paused my reading to eat and didn’t remember I was reading this book until two days later. Do with that information what you will.
On a more positive note, Dre on the cover is cute.
This read was definitely a slow burn. Lots of back & forth between Dre & Merci. She was a struggling journalist looking for her comeback story when she ended up in the lion’s den. Saved by Dre, there’s an instant connection that they both try to fight. The twist of the rival gang is mind blowing & the loss we received was heartbreaking. I’m glad they found one another during a low point for them both.
Mercy was blessed that Dre was around to save her. Cannon and his MC crew were ruthless and needed to be stopped. Dre was a little stubborn due to his past, but being around Mercy weakened him. He fell for her fast and hard. He just didn't want to be hurt. Mercy felt the same, but didn't understand his moods. Thankfully, his dad could explain his demeanor. Everyone got their happiness, except the Outlaws. Although Dre lost something very special. Great read!
Mercy was crazy to go to the bar like that without anyone to help her it was crazy how she went in their and hell raiser was looking at her like she was crazy for do so. He was looked you could tell that was a biker bar and some biker here don’t play nice . I was like tell her about it and be her knight in shining denim or leather amor . Hell raiser to me love to get into something behind his crazy love or obsession with mercy and I will recommend that ugly oh really read this great book.

This book allows ppl with preconceived ideas about MC to see that they are not all the same. They are not just a hoard of uneducated, violent, disrespectful criminal, but they are at their core a family. And they could actually teach the rest of the world something about what it means to be loyal, and to be a family. Because blood doesn’t necessarily make you family, but family, makes you blood.
This was a great read!!!…The loss of the Pres broke my heart, but Pres played no games about his son!!!… Mercy stood on her plan and I live that she was able to put it out there to help keep safe!!!… Dre was a man on a mission and he wanted to make sure everything their club stood for was not tainted by his stepbrother’s behavior!!!…
Well...Things were happening really fast. I have no clue how we got from point A to point B. First, she was broke down then trapped in a bar then they were sleeping together. There was so much information left out. we know the situation with his half brother. what about his mother? What about Mercy? These folks falling in love in a matter of days. whew!!!
Loved Dre and Mercy's story. So quick but yet so fleeting and romantic. They came to each other when Mercy needed protection and unbeknownst to her what she needed was Dre and his love. They fought tooth and nail but loved prevailed in the end. I have loved these motorcycle books. Keep them coming
Dre was a savior. He set out to right all the things and people that did Mercy wrong. Everything he did was for her, even if he fought the feelings he had due to his past hurts.
This redemption was cute and heartbreaking. Why Pres, though.
Abandoned brings out insecurity within people who doesn’t understand that not everyone leaves for reasons unbeknownst to you. People who leave relationships with no closure are often not healthy enough to provide the support and care needed for themselves or others.
I don't know what is missing but something more was needed for this story. I don't know if it's because it started like it was in the middle of a chapter or what.
I def enjoyed. Loved the events in the story. I didn't expect some of the twist so they were really cool. I liked dre and gow protective he felt behind Mercy in such a short time. The chemistry was amazing...fef a great read.
I've read a few books by K.L. Hall in the past and I'm happy to see her add her contribution to this series. I really enjoyed the story, build up and ending to this story. It was a short quick read but it's a story about finding love in unexpected places.
Quick read, but entertaining. Mercy was able to not only secure her story, but she found love when Hellraiser rescued her from the lions den...literally. I may have even shed a tear. Happy Reading Y'all!💋
A round of applause for anyone that stands for justice. Mercy & Dre make a strong force to push back on criminal actions. In the midst of the fight, love makes it way into the chaos.
I believe the storyline felt a bit rushed and crammed. From my perspective, the journalist is on a tight string—she must secure a story on a dangerous biker club to keep her job. Along the way, she encounters her love interest, who ultimately plays a significant role in her rescue! The End! you all might enjoy, but it wasn’t my cup of tea.🫖
I didn’t even read further than the start of the book. I don’t like sex trafficking themed books esp when it involves teenagers and children. I mean with adults either, so over it before it began. Should’ve been a warning.
Following your instincts sometimes lead you into worlds of danger. The the grey-eyed dude swept in to save you. True love is hardly ever easy - yet the reward is spectacular.
Outlaws were just a group of boys doing childish things. Mercy was in over her head but Dre was there by her side. Dre's mother I didn't understand how she was in one son's life but not the other?
The thought that you would have to take down your sibling is really wild. Being abandoned by your mother to create his sibling is even more wild. Glad love is found and new beginning started.
