Just a quick description, since there doesn't seem to be one yet. For a starter, the subtitle: Pleasures and Treasures to Enjoy Within Essy Reach of the Interstate Exits. Perhaps the GPS devises have made this obsolete, but if you don't have one yet, this is very useful if you plan to travel on the interstate highways and want some interesting places to see on the way. We used it when my husband got a contract across the country in Massachusetts, and I went separately with the kids by car to spend a couple of weeks with him so we could see the historical places while he still had a condo near Boston.
Each of the two volumes (East-West Routes and North-South Routes) shows the major interstate highways across the country and then follows them through the book with the attractions, mostly natural or historical, numbered to find easily. There is a section for each highway. It's easy to use and great to have along on your trip.
