If you like heartwarming inspirational romances, you'll find a good reading choice in Hometown Valentine.
This book is about what you would expect from a Harlequin Love Inspired book. It was a very sweet, heart string pulling, inspired and just plain good. It was a sort of Hallmark movie predictable BUT that is an absolutely good thing! I read this book and it played as a movie in my head the entire time. The imagery was clear as day as I read every single word and pictured every character as if they were really real. It helped that Valentines Day is just a few days away! The synopsis of this book tells you all you need to know going into this book so I won't go into the plot or anything like that because I don't want to slip and give anything out that shouldn't be given.
The characters are enjoyable, if not a bit stubborn. They are very well written and most are very likeable. There are times you'll wish you could reach in the pages and give them a bit of a shake or a shove (situation dependent) but you have the feeling by the end they may just sort themselves out.
This book is a good one for those who enjoy the type of things I mentioned up above. It's not a very long book so for all the other things after adding that in, if it's your thing, it's definitely worth giving a shot! I liked it!

Lily is finally able to follow her dream of fashion design after helping her mother for years with her younger siblings. Will a chance meeting of a cute bachelor and his niece turn into something more? will her plans work out?

I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet romance filled with multi-dimensional characters who were working diligently to overcome their past traumas and shortcomings.

I borrowed this book from our local public library.

Loved this sweet story of two main characters who put others’ needs first and find lasting happiness together. This was my first book in this series and now I would like to read the others.

I picked up this book on vacation because it looked interesting, but I wasn't totally convinced it would be a good story. It looked cheesy, but it totally wasn't. The reason I liked this book so much was that it is so relatable. Lily is a lovable main character but still has flaws, and Blake is not the mysterious hot guy who seems to dominate every love story, but instead he's just a great guy. Throw in a cute baby and the story's great! I liked that each character had a very detailed personality and things that they liked, problems, fears, ambitions, etc. I could easily tell who was talking (it switches between Blake and Lily). The supporting characters also have defined personalities. It could have had a better plot as it was a little predictable, but there were plenty of twists and turns. It was a fun, light read and I'm glad I gave it a chance.

Hometown Valentine one of the Moonlight Cove series by Lissa Manley was a good book. Lily rogers wants to design clothes in the big city. She is saving up money to go there. She is now looking for a job. Blake Stonely runs a coffee shop. He hires Lily to watch his baby niece who he is her guardian. Lily has to decide if designing clothes is really her dream or following her heart to stay with Blake and his niece. Lily has fallen in love with Blake.

I would give it 2.5.

Excepting the epilogue the whole book takes place over 3 weeks tops. In 3 weeks I'm not even sure if I like a person, let alone love them. Also, this is the 21st century where going to LA for a reality show doesn’t mean you have no contact with your hometown/can't come back afterwards/have to live there to pursue your career. As this played a big role in the book it drove me crazy.

"The reader will be able to identify with Blake’s stress and Lily’s desire to pursue her dreams. The familiar characters in Moonlight Cove remind the reader that faith ebbs and flows throughout one’s lifetime, but God is always faithful" (RT Book Reviews, 4 stars).

Nice story. Kept my attention. A nice summer diversion instead of watching TV.
