I'm glad I read this book, i was pleasantly surprised. I had read The Red Tent and enjoyed that immensely and decided to read this one too. It says it's about Joseph but honestly his life is maybe 1/3 of the book and not always the focus. It's mostly from various women's point of view and it's what I called expanded non-fiction. As in it's based on the facts outlined in the Bible but fleshed-out into a story with some things that probably didn't happen but it stayed close to the fence of the truth. I wish the author had come up with endings for some of the people who seemed to be a main or semi-main character for awhile and then just not talked about again. I'd probably give this one 4.5 stars but I bumped it up to 5 since it was so good. It doesn't seem to be in print any longer and that's a shame since people are missing out.
