I used to draw a lot in the past but I lost my spark because I never was an organized artist. No one had taught me the basics so I was looking for a guide to help me through the process and I think this book was quite good in this.

It is divided in sections and starts from the basics, so it could could be helpful for people who have never drawn a thing and for people like me who want to get back into drawing more.

Like I said, the author explains things from the very basics starting from the materials you should have, how to observe and analyze your subjects up to shadows and how to color your project. It isn't a long book but it manages to guide you through all the main things you should know when you want to draw and how to do them.

I found the sections very colorful and well-organized. There were several pictures that showed the step by step process when studying a specific aspect of drawing and there was a useful tip box. At the end of every section, there was a exercise so you could practice what you've just learned.

I find this book easy to read. It taught me things that will be really helpful next time I try to draw something. I think that those who have no clue where to begin with drawing and want to quickly learn the basics will find this book useful and enjoyable.

Thanks to Quarto Group for the ARC of this book.
