According to Tibetan traditions, the Indian Buddhist Prasangika-Madhyamika school is the one that represents the final true thought of the Buddha. Parts Two and Three of the book are annotated translations of Tibetan texts that are used as source books in monastic education.
Dr. Daniel G. Cozort is professor of religion at Dickenson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, where he teaches Indian religions. He received his Ph.D. in the History of Religions from the University of Virginia and has studied with Tibetan lamas there and in India. He has worked extensively on Tibetan presentations of the Prāsaṅgika-Mādhyamika and Gelugpa schools.
