After the madness caused by Black Mitchell, Cashmere and Demarco want to move on and build a future, but the past continues to haunt them. Now married, successful business owners, they live in a huge house in Inglewood, CA, with their timid thirteen-year-old daughter, Dominique; however, things are far from perfect or even normal. Demarco holds deep resentment toward Cashmere and wants out of the marriage. His anger toward his wife makes him unable to have a close relationship with Dominique, who looks for a father's love elsewhere.
Cashmere's past continues to haunt her. Black Mitchell might be in prison, but that doesn't stop him from his quest to destroy Cashmere's life for putting him there. As Cashmere struggles to save her marriage, Dominique finds herself pushed into the same life her mother escaped. Tragedy hits home and Cashmere loses everything. Will she be able to save her daughter before it's too late?

Ok Ms. Williams you should have been asking me what took me so long...and I would have said you never told me this book was off the damn chain. Lord only knows that Cashmere needed to be in somebody's boxing ring cause she was mopping the floor with b****** left and right. It would be an understatement to say I enjoyed this book I absolutely loved every minute of it. I think everybody got what they deserved, from pimps to hoes to husbands to wives to girlfriends to so called uncles... You get my drift. ☺

I really liked this book. It put you in the mind of real life situation. This book showed the trial and tribulation of what a family can go through when you hold secrets.
The only problem with holding secrets you have to deal with the consequences that goes with the betrayal.

This book started right where it left off in the last book. This book was something serious. Karen Williams really put her foot into this book. This is a 5 star banger. You will not be disappointed with this book.

The situations that some people find themselves in!! Dominique was doomed to a life of depravity. Her Dad was not really hr dad. Her real Dad immediately wanted her to become a prostitute in order for him to get out of jail. Looking for love, she accepted his proposal. Cashmere worked hard to keep DeMarco in her life. He was slimy though. The ending actually made me feel that ths book was not as ratchet as it started out to be.

This was an ok read. It flowed and kept my attention. I was very annoyed at times that cashmere did not put more of an effort into the way she was raising dominique. Some of the things that happened to dominique really turned my stomach.

Thought this book was amazing and I love the expansion of the characters. During the read there was times real tears was about to fall down, and I full on heartly understand why Dom did what she did. But oh boy was black mitchell hell. and demarco wasn't any better, but we can understand him. Though why I put it at four stars and not five stars is because of some grammar errors. For example instead of putting is, they put was. On top of that, Idk but I felt there was a slight sense of homophobia in a scene where Cashmere said to Dom it was gay for a guy to fuck you in front of all those people. I think there are better ways to express it. Oh and I am so happy at that scene where the mom grabbed Dom from the strip club, her ass didn't need to be in there. I was also glad her mom went into murder mode for Dom, we love cashmere even support her. Also what Desemire did to Caesar, I think she deserves to be dead. Overall, I love this book and I love the series. Also I am not the grammar queen as you can see :)

Cashmere and Dominique had a rough go at it but, in time all was forgiven and their relationship was restored. Cashmere found love again. Their family was quite dysfunctional to say the least starting with the mother, aunt, sister, etc. cashmere endured a lot starting at age 13. She was addicted to drugs, killed her sister and went to jail, in prostitution and raped. Her dau. Started to follow in her footsteps after finding out her mom lied to abt. her father so she rebailed in a big and dangerous way. Her father was the lowest of the low. Pimped his own daughters and slept with them. The story proved you can overcome and find real love. Enough said. Read this book, the sequel to The People vs Cashmere.

This 2nd installment of The People vs. Cashmere was everything. Cashmere has literally been through everything, and I don't know how she does it. That damn Demarco really made me angry in this book and the way he treated Cashmere and Dominque. Just when Demarco realized how bad he was treating them his life was cut short.
It's crazy how you can literally fall in the footsteps of your parent(s) but not in a good way. While Cashmere was forced into the pimping world by her sister, Dominque went because she was searching for love from a father figure.
I don't want to give to much of this story away but I give it 5 stars.... Now all you have to do is go read the book!!!!
