Another interesting read by M.J. Rutter. I've read this book in 2 sittings, only because I couldn't keep my eyes open last night. Lisa and Ben were likeable characters. The secondary characters actually made this book. I did have a little chuckle at Mason and Vic a few times. They were your typical cockney lads.

If you like a fast paced contemporary romance with a few hiccups along the way then this is a book for you.

Whilst reading this, I felt a definite connection to each character, and even before a certain pair of thugs redeem themselves, I loved them. It was great to see an author take on so many different cultures in one book and pull it off. You could tell them apart, but not in a clichéd way, if you know what I mean? Poor Lisa was just a complete dupe from the get-go, trusting in everyone to look after her so easily. Sad to say some lessons are learned the hard way, and Lisa definitely finds this out as the story progresses.
I was glad that she got her HEA in the end, 'cos after all the crap she'd been through, she more than deserved it. I loved Julian and would like to read a story about him, with cameos from Vic and Mason of course! All in all, a good solid read. The story reminded me of a favorite movie of mine -- Snatch. Anyone a fan of gritty gangster reads should check this out!

I received a copy of the book as a first-read-giveaway in return for an honest review.

Simply, I found this to be a fast moving story with believable characters and inventive, gritty plot lines. This was a good, enjoyable read - more of the same please :)
