Once again Kate does an outstanding job. This is the third book I'm the tournament series and is darker than the first two. We find ourselves falling deep into the abyss of humanity. I really enjoy this series and it's s fun short read when I need a pallet cleanser from romance. I look forward to the next ones.

Set in a hospital known for Initiative procedures and helping start the integration process, Dr. Belmont recognizes his part in a system so irrevocably manipulative and dastardly as he works to survive the next round of the Tournaments. When his "failures" catch up to him, he and his allies will be forced to make decisions and accept that not everything can be controlled.
Seger is a mastermind of keeping you on your toes. Like the previous two novellas in the series, you are hooked immediately and while this one read a bit differently, it was no less thrilling. Pieces of the puzzle start falling into place with this book, and the cliffhangers just keep getting better and more suspenseful. I desperately did not want to like our MMC or a few other side characters, but I found myself having mixed feelings about them and a few I found I absolutely loved and cried for. If you're looking to spike up your heart rate, pick up these novellas today!

Critical Care is a darker follow-up to Retail Therapy. This story plunges further into the darkness, highlighting the vulnerability of even those closest to Ravenna Cross. Who will the tournaments claim next?
Kate is a mastermind at creating unique characters with genuine quirks, and settings that further along The Tournaments storyline. While each scenario is different, they all add their own special flare to the collection.
Like the other stories in the series, Critical Care is a page-turner until the end. I’m still hooked and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next story. Keep ‘em coming, Katie!

this book met all my expectations!
I love this author’s abilities to make me laugh at humanity. I also loved seeing a few characters from previous books. The intertwining of the story plot and world building is amazing.
Read this series in order, they should not be standalone, and you might love the series as much as me.

The way the initiative is so deeply intertwined with secrets and betrayals is insane. Every page you get more and more of the story. Each novella is connected and every time you think you figured it out- BAM- a twist happens. Critical Care really got into the many reasons behind the infected and I felt like the story is truly coming together.

This was good like the first 2...
I did not fully expect the end of that book. But it was nice to see how it felt from the "Zombies side of things"
