What are we without our memories?

Special Forces soldier, Jansen Michaels, lost a year of his life and his long-term memory to a madman bent on killing everyone Jansen loves. After a daring escape, Jansen runs to the one person he’s sworn to protect at all costs…only to find she doesn’t need his protection. She needs his love.

Dr. Lisa Trenery has spent the last year of her life searching for Jansen Michaels. As team doctor for the superhero set, her job is to reverse the effects of Peter Reeser’s genetics experiments. She grieved with the rest of the team when they lost Jansen in battle, but now that he’s back, he’s changed—and he has more than retribution on his mind. When the attraction between them explodes, she knows loving him could cost her friends their freedom.

Wall Street Journal & USA Today Bestselling author, Nana Malone writes Sexy Feel-Good Romance and loves of all things romance and adventure.

That love started with a tattered romantic suspense she "borrowed" from her cousin. It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She's been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

This is the conclusion to the free book in the Superhero set. It revolves around the soldier who is kidnapped by the bad, mastermind brother. It picks up one year later when he escapes. He was always in love with the girl from the last book but for some reason, he's in love with the doctor in this book. Go figure. Wasn't the conclusion or answers we were hoping for. Again, great premise but a true let down.

Not really being into super heroes, I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed Lisa and Jansen's story.I usually do not read series books as a stand alone, but this one held its own.Nana gives enough backstory to catch you up to the point without you feeling you've missed something. As with all her characters, the chemistry is smoking hot and left me wanting more. Needless to say the other books in the series are now safe at home on my Kindle to be read next.
The good vs evil senario , with good winning out and evil getting their just due is always a winner under any circumstances. This is a wonderful contemporary romance with a sci-fi twist and I am certain you will be drawn into the whole protector's series.
Wonderful story Nana. You've got another winner.

"Wounded Protectors #3", Jansen and Lisa story, was a Blast. This was a different type of story for me, and I was totally impressed, as usual, with Nana Malone's skills and talent as a writer. I will definitely be reading stories #0.5, #1, and #2 of the Wound Protectors Series. I just know that this is not the end! I would love to see little Max grow up and even though Peter got his, it's just something about how simple that all transpired. Great job of writing as always Nana!!!
