This book has a really great concept about creativity being something that is inside of all of us that we just need to get in touch with instead of a performance. It is something deeply spiritual and healing that everyone can use more as a tool in their own journey.

Awakening Creativity was so much more than I expected. So many pictures of thoughts, painted by a brilliant wielded of language! She starts by throwing paint on the pages, “Creativity is not within me,but me swimming inside the current…teeming with life…awaiting the moment for Creativity to emerge into the light.”
The entire book spoke to me of being in tune with the Creator, as we embrace,surrender to, and trust Creativity.
I love how this book beckons us to reconnect, renew, create space and time, intentionally, with Creativity and in turn the Creator.
Each chapter comes with exercises to guide you into inviting Creativity into your space. My favorites were the Love Letters and the Herb Tea rituals. Don’t skip over these fun and intimate times!

Author/ Artist Carrie Schmitt tells us, “Our creativity is designed to help us in these inevitable moments when we need to pivot and recalibrate”. Her soon to release book, Awakening Creativity is filled with quiet reflection, inspiration and practical activities readers can use to develop and nurture their own creative experiences. Written under the premise that a creative spirit resides in every person, Schmitt’s approach is both inspirational, spiritual and completely refreshing. Weary from the world? Read through her book solo or with a group of friends. It is designed to guide the reader wanting to embrace their creative spirits to their fullest.

I really enjoyed reading and listening to “AWAKENING CREATIVITY.” The audiobook is pure joy and reminds us that we are all artists/creators. It is so relaxing and inspiring. The first chapter “Temple of Darkness” reminds us how creativity can pull us out of our darkest moments. Put aside stressors and let your body tell you what to create. There are all different kinds of “art.” And there is no hurry because it’s the process that counts. I have found myself looking into Carrie Schmitt and her website more thoroughly. I bought a journal and some paints and am going to try out some landscapes and flowers. I may even take one of her classes.

As I’ve begun reading the first few chapters of an advance copy of Carrie’s newest book Awakening Creativity, I've found myself feeling more & more "Creative" I've never thought of myself as a "creative" type, but this proves that I and anyone can be if we just search deep inside ourselves! I love the way it is set up, in an easy-to-follow format and a simple way to channel and document our creative side!

I’ve enjoyed reading an advanced copy of Carrie’s newest book Awakening Creativity. It’s instilling a continuing and deeper connection to trusting my creative intuition. An excitement and comfort that reaches beyond art supplies to my everyday connections. Awakening Creativity is a welcome complement to my personal experience of growth being a part of Carrie’s Flower Painting Club and delight filled as her previous books.

I love Carrie’s whole philosophy and approach to making art. In this book she shows you how to reclaim that simple joy you had as a child making art out of nothing or playing with paints and glue and glitter. This is such a powerful new approach to creativity. Her passion for creativity will give you new energy and inspire you.
