A ideia de um mapa cuja meticulosa representação do real acaba por o transformar num território anima um dos mais assombrosos contos de Borges. Esse mesmo espírito anima este muito bem talhado conto onde um geógrafo contempla o mundo do alto da sua torre e o representa num mapa que, ao ficar pronto, fixou a tinta aquilo que no mundo real já há muito se desvaneceu. Distingue-se a clareza poética das palavras que nos mergulham no mundo tangível do conto.
Kinda sweet, beautiful and sad, in a "Dust in the Wind" vibe. Excepto a última frase que dá outro fôlego à narrativa.
Este pequeno conto deixou-me um impressão bastante forte. Não só temos pedaços importantes do worldbuilding introduzidos de uma maneira conveniente como não podemos deixar de sentir empatia pela personagem principal. Na minha opinião, deve ser entendido como uma alegoria, visto que não fica esclarecido quem é que alimenta o fazedor de mapas ou como é que ele sustenta.
