The centerpiece of the Mediterranean Diet concentrates on fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, legumes and fish that come from southern Europe (around the Mediterranean). It also allows for an occasional glass of red wine or helping of red meat.

The recipes in the book are step-by-step, and easy to follow, even for beginner chefs and busy families. The Diet has many health benefits, including diabetes management and weight loss. There is also a 30-day meal plan. What is not included are obscure ingredients that can only be found in a specialty store. The Diet also recommends increasing your interaction with other people and doing some moderate exercise (even just brisk walking).

For anyone who wants to start to eat healthier, or is serious about getting healthy, here is a very good place to start.
