Dark & spicy Tangled meets ACOTAR in this dark romantasy series with a cast of morally grey characters, MMCs with touch her and die energy, and a world-altering prophecy. Perfect for fans of Raven Kennedy, Sarah J Mass, and Sarah A Parker.
Overall, I enjoyed the book, but I have clear issues. The portrayal of abuse shows a lack of understanding, particularly in how the main female protagonist was overly accepting of sexual attention from both male characters. Her language was inappropriate, far too advanced for someone who lacked an education and was conditioned to repeat things. Additionally, the book unnecessarily dragged on and could have been much more impactful if it had stayed focused on its core topic.
The kindle version of the omnibus is NOT edited properly. The entire thing is a single chapter instead of even being broken up by the four books it contains, let alone the individual chapters in those books.
I gave each book ratings as well as the whole thing because… well it was such a slog to finish in places that I wanted some extra credit for finishing. But also because some parts of the story was better than others.
Overall, it was a 3⭐️ story, but the last book in particular DRAGGED ON.
