Dani Greenlaw’s adult life is satisfyingly boring, a vast improvement from her tragic and troubled childhood, until she has to identify long-lost Uncle Percy’s corpse in the city medical examiner’s office. Adding to her shock, she is deemed next of kin and given his paltry estate: a ramshackle cottage secluded in the woods and a broken pocket watch.
The seemingly worthless pocket watch is a mystery of physics. Nothing seems to affect it, damage it, or influence it. And yet it won’t tell time. It is a mere curiosity until Dani discovers that deadly men stalk her, killing anyone in their path to obtain the mysterious broken watch.
The mystifying situation gets even stranger when Dani confronts a shadowy pursuer who confesses to being none other than her Uncle Percy, miraculously resurrected!
Percy 2.0 explains that his three-decades-old science accident caused an unprecedented, mind-blowing effect, and the key to it all is the watch. Aided by CBI Agent James Ricardo and Percy 2.0, Dani is swept into a twisted, dangerous game with sinister players willing to kill for what the watch unlocks.
Not all who seek the watch are human, or alive. Unseen, and untouchable by material hands, another entity lurks in wait, coveting the watch’s power to impose its vengeance and bring with it the cold darkness of its terrifying world.
I've been writing stories since I was 11 years old when I decided my cool Dungeons and Dragons character needed to be the subject of an epic novel. Never did get that one done, but kept the fire burning ever since. I became a visual artist, the last 20 years working as a computer animator. I make other writers and directors dreams come true, making their bad stories look good on screen. So, I wondered... could I do any better? I find that writing books is my passion, the thing I like to do even when all other choices are available. I only hope enough people find the stories worthwhile. I would love to keep doing it as a profession one day. Thanks for reading!
What a great read. This tale about parallel though completely different dimensions and the people who find themselves going between them is both intriguing as well as, at times, terrifying. A true story of good versus evil, an accident decades ago throws a modern woman into a danger she doesn’t know exists. What she, and the ones caught in the aftermath are willing to do to make things right — or win at all costs— makes this a thrilling read. Highly recommend!
