Nob Hill is the continuation of M.L. Kilian's first novel Piazza Navona - the story about a woman who finds herself searching for a new life and a fresh beginning, leaving her comfort zone in San Francisco for the unknown in Rome, discovering herself in the most unexpected way and returning to a life she never imagined possible.

Creative writing had never occurred to me, even though I imagined many film scripts in my head over the years. However, after creating two very successful blogs, I realized writing is my calling. It happens; I suppose. The fact I travel extensively across the globe, documenting my day to day in a journal, added to my passion, finally inspiring me to put a story together.

Piazza Navona and Nob Hill, my first two-part novel, is very dear to my heart naturally and I am glad to have the opportunity to share it with you all. I hope you enjoy the story because there is more, many more coming your way over the years. So stay tuned and connected and I am always here to help, should you want to reach out and ask questions about writing and becoming an indie author.

I really wanted to like this book. I won it in a contest. I couldn't make it 50 pages into the book. The author has very awkward sentence structure. She tries to smash too much into one sentence and random different ideas that would be better on their own. Also the characters seemed very formulaic and not very interesting. She sets part of the novel in the San Francisco area and part in Italy but doesn't seem to have a firm handle on either location. (I am aware that authors take some literary license with location but when you use very clearly identified locations you need to stay closer to what they are really like.) The main character seemed very shallow. A really good editor would help her to tighten up her story line and sentence structure. It just seemed more like a high school creative writing project than a novel.
