Rebuilding the SBC is truly a work of art. At 166 pages it explains everything so well, covered topics such as torque specs, piston ring gaps, engine block machining, cylinder bore, etc. The fact that it comes with a video helps even more because it shows detailed step by step explanation of engine teardown and assembly. It also covers various tools you need such as a timing light, torque ratchet, and ring compressor. This book helped me understand what the difference is between my current 305 SBC and the 350 SBC which i plan to drop into my 1981 Chevy El Camino by the end of this 2019 winter. I truly will recommend this book at anybody who is trying to rebuild their engine or simply trying to understand how engines work because many V6’s, V8’s, V10’s, V12’s, and V16’s are extremely similar. The only difference is that some are pushrod engines and others are overhead cam engines. This book thoroughly explains how pushrod engines work and even say some modifications to make the engine rev higher, such as roller rocker arms, instead of flathead. Knowing how the pushrod engine works helps with understanding how the overhead cam engines work. Overall this book is truly a solid starting place for people who want to work on cars or people who want to understand how cars work.
