Kaimani, the savvy owner of Petal & Stem, knows how to make the most of every holiday rush. While Valentine's Day isn't her favorite—she prefers flowers that say more than I’m supposed to buy these—she capitalizes on the demand, crafting breathtaking bouquets for hopeful romantics across Sable Falls. This year, Kaimani is once again teaming up with The Bakehouse, another beloved gem of the Central Market, for their “Love Bites & Blooms” collaboration—a perfect pairing of flowers and decadent baked goods. The packages are always a hit, but this year they’ve added an extra dash of a Secret Admirer option, where customers can send anonymous gifts to their Valentines. Trip McCall, who manages the business side of The Bakehouse while his sisters work their magic in the kitchen, finds the idea of the Secret Admirer package particularly intriguing. He’s had feelings for Kaimani since they first met years ago, but he’s never found the right moment—or the courage—to tell her. This could be his chance to finally bridge the gap between friendship and something more. As Valentine’s Day dawns, the market hums with life, the air fragrant with roses and warm pastries. Trip waits, heart racing, as his carefully chosen gifts make their way to Kaimani. Will she see through the anonymity to the heart behind the gesture—or will his feelings remain a secret, just like the sender?
I always enjoy reading books by this author. The story was well written and was a cute little romance. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
Alright now Bailey West! Cute, cute, cute!! Kai and Trip have been friends and business neighbors for some time now, who have hidden their attraction from the other. Timing was always off, but now that they are both single Trip is ready to shoot his shot. However, he is nervous about how she will receive his advance, how should I bring it up to her, and will it ruin our friendship? Then an idea forms…..
Kai, a woman who embodies flowers, and is a whole boss with her flower shop Petal and Stem. Her creative, and unique arrangements have business booming leaving her no time for much else. However, she has had this off and on crush with her neighbor Trip over the years. She too is afraid to speak on it, not wanting to ruin their friendship. When she starts receiving thoughtful gifts from a secret admirer, she cannot imagine that someone is really checking for her. It must be Yvonne, a vendor, or my dad right, cause who sees me. Gurl……. You missed all the damn clues that are right in your face! 🤣
I loved how Trip was so intentional with his choosing of gifts, making sure that Kai felt something with each one received. 😍 He watched, and waited for her to make the connection, but a little bad weather was their cupid in disguise. Really liked this one! 👍🏾👍🏾
What a beautiful Valentine's Day Romance between two successful business owners!
Kaimani owns a successful florist business and Trip's family owns the bakery next door. I love how they work together, on events, using both businesses. Quite fascinating watching how they fight their attraction towards each other. Lots of laugh out loud moments!!!
If you’re not a fan of a slow burn, you might not like this story, but if you don’t mind a slow burn, you will enjoy Kai and Trip’s story and seeing them go from friends and business partners to lovers. I really liked the gifts that Trip got for Kai because it showed that he was listening and paying attention. His gifts were both thoughtful and intentional. Kai was funny because she kept trying to convince herself that there was no way that Trip liked her as much as she did him, but even before his secret valentine idea came about, he was showing her how much he cared for her as more than a friend by making sure she was fed and in checking on her.
Also, in true Bailey West fashion, this story had a much needed word about doing things in God’s timing and that His timing may not be the same as ours. I could completely relate to the message Zanetta gave in this season of my life.
I’m looking forward to what will come next from Bailey because I have yet to find one of her stories that I didn’t enjoy from beginning to end.
Kaimani (Kai) finally pursued her passion and opened a floral boutique. Beside her shop is a family owned bakery with whom she collaborates with to create unique floral and baked goods products for Valentine’s Day. This year she presents a plan to offer a tier of secret admirer packages to add to the collaborations between the businesses.
Kaziah (Trip) has been crushing on Kaimani since she moved into the shop next door. After Kaimani presents her new secret admirer idea, Trip establishes an idea to send gifts as a secret admirer to her until he can reveal his feelings.
Trip is truly thoughtful throughout the entire book. The way he remember all the details of his conversations with Kaimani is heartwarming. He consistently checks in on her even as a friend. Top tier boyfriend material.
This is my first time reading the author’s writing. I really enjoyed reading her work. Trip and Kai worked so well together and I like how he was so nurturing to her before they started dating. I liked them being snowed in together but I did want a more time jump epilogue like them being married with kids.
The story of Trip and Kai was definitely the groundwork for how friendship can be the best motivation for staying attuned to that special person. Their business bought them pleasure and presented a common ground for knowing someone on a deeper and more involved level. Loved how the author spun the story.
Once again, Ms. West has given me a great read! I love every character and every story that she writes. I love how she’s able to make you laugh with her character’s wit, all while weaving a tale of romance, a little mystery, and encouragement of the hope of love. I always look forward to reading her books. Keep up the good work!
I really did appreciate having a good short story for Valentine’s Day love story Trip a true man who knows what he wants and the time is finally right for him Kai. I love reading about the other couples I have met reading this authors other book enjoy
These two K’s were so cute, each waiting to see what the other was thinking. This was a very cute story, I liked it so much I just purchased it for my Bailey West collection 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. Thank you so much.
This was so cute. Nothing like seeing a man stress over his love interest and that love interest stress just as much. This was a great quick read and I enjoyed it.
