Loyal’s life was dark with only small specks of light coming from the flash of bullets spewing from his gun. His mind didn’t wonder nor did he dream. In the rare moments of him closing his eyes all he had was nightmares.
Until he met her.
Wholly and fully engulfed in her energy and light, he decides he wants her. And everything that comes with her.
Zy’Yah was floating. Young with all the adult responsibilities on her shoulders, yet she still emitted light. Everyone saw it. They all felt it when she entered a room.
His pain was a lot but she made him want to walk in the sun and basks in her rays. She turned his nightmares into dreams.
The beautiful sound of pain changes his life. A bond of love and darkness changes hers
A soulful shooter creates a world where only they exist.
I love me some Loyal! This story took me on an emotional roller coaster! I wanted them to be happy the whole book, but this being my third Evelyn Latrice book sis going to play with your emotions and her characters are going to go through some things.
Dare I say Loyal is my favorite MMC from Evelyn Latrice universe???? Yes he is 👌🏾
Loyal has made a name for himself in the streets while taking care of his sick grandmother. When one day he falls in love with the heart of Zy’s two year old daughter. To Zy’s surprise because Zoe not big on people and neither is Loyal. They form a bond quickly and Loyal starts claiming them immediately. From that point their little family was everything he needed in the eye of his storms. I enjoyed all of this. Gave me all the feels. Some tears were shed. I had to curse Zy out a couple times but they got it together in the end. This is a grumpy/sunshine single parent trope. Also he sung her right out her panties. I definitely recommend.
I enjoyed this book although it was sad. In my opinion so many people have tremendous talents but there are so many obstacles preventng them from using it in a way that will bring joy, peace and so many other things it hurt my heart. I enjoyed this book in a way I can't explain. Thank you Ms. Evelyn Latrice.❤🙏🏿
Man…… I knew loyal was gone step and him and zy & Zoe had me swooning the whole dang book.
This book was great. Beyond every thing I thought, & I knew I would love them down , based on to the moon. The Journey was so realll and this was powerful to read. I felt I had a front row set to them and it was so beautiful! 😍 Loyal & Zy for the win! Idc! 😫 Evelyn keep doing it! & I’m here for it allll!!!!!!
I was yellin at the book tellin her not to do it!!! This book had me on edge the whole time and broke my heart a couple times. Their obsession with each other was beautiful and a lot. I enjoyed this, looking forward to reading more from her.
This book was so good! I hate that future had to die, but I kind of figured that was going to happen. Zy heard that deep love love because I don’t know if I could do it.
Loyal and Zy’Yah were both young, and life had not been the kindest to both of them. Loyal had a rough upbringing in the streets, and Zy’Yah had a rough time with her mother leaving and her baby daddy being a POS. The two met since Zy was the CNA taking care of his Granny in the nursing home. One day Zy’Yah had to take her daughter to work, and of course, Zoe instantly went to Loyal. From there, it was a wrap. He instantly claimed them and could not wait to spend his life loving them— even though he felt like he did not deserve it and his life wouldn’t allow him to have it. Things were going great, and he was taking his music seriously to get out of the streets for his family until his opps killed his best friend, Future. That loss was felt especially since Future was in love with Zy’s best friend, Dejanay. This story was one of sacrifice. Zy sacrificed her dreams to give Zoe a good life, and Loyal sacrificed himself to stay alive. When Zy slept with Mitch, I knew why she was doing it, but I also was concerned that it was going to ruin everything, but they pulled through. This was my first Evelyn Latrice book, and it did not disappoint.
I so enjoyed this read. Loyal was hard out in the streets. It took lil baby Zoe to jolt his heart and find love with Zy. First of Zoe stole my heart as well. She was so adorable and quite the lil character! She took to Loyal immediately! They came together and found their place in the world together! My heart broke for Future's demise. I hated that Zy felt she had to sleep with that snake Mitch! Had she known Lyric wanted to sign Loyal all along, it would of spared them that heartache! But as always love prevailed!
I literally don’t have the words for the way that I feel about this piece of work. Evelyn just does it. While I haven’t read her entire catalogue. I’ve read this, the eighth wonder series, and some of its spinoffs, and while the characters are younger than me in age, they are very much relatable and worth your time reading them. Please do yourself a favor and read this.
Loyal’s story was so heartbreakingly beautiful! To be so young and have had to endure so much heartache and pain was so sad. He literally was fighting for his life. His granny who loved him more than anyone else was slowly forgetting him due to dementia and he did not know how to handle it. Then buy a Chance encounter. Za’yah and Zoe entered his life! Such an amazing story!
Ok I loved Loyal & Big Baby. Even though sometimes she made me mad by what she would say to him especially since Loyal stepped up when Zy’s bd told her he didn’t wanna be a dad. I can see how some people would be mad that Zy did what she did BUT she wanted him alive & away from what could take him away from his lil baby & his big baby. So I can understand, she was wiling to do whatever for her mannnn. I am glad that they were able to to get their happy ending

I really like the book, but why at 90% did everything goes so bad, like why did Future have to die, then Dej lost the baby. And Zy having to give up her body for Loyal to get a chance in the industry?! I did not care for that at all. Then all of a sudden epilogue… I excepted the granny to die but everything else was unnecessary in my opinion.
this book was soo good, baby I loved me some Loyal. Even though he was in the dark I loved how he acted with his little baby & big baby. He ain’t play about them & they brought the light in him…ian like when she slept with mitch even though she was trying to help but overall this book was so good. It brought me to tears & it was written so well!
I DNF’d at around 86%. I could tell I wasn’t going to enjoy the rest of the book after things got weird when Zy cheated and slept with that A&R rep to get Loyal a deal. I ain’t like that at all.
1 star because it was good up until that situation. Unfortunately, it completely overshadowed everything else, and I had no urge to finish the book after that.

2.8 ⭐️. I liked this story and got really into it. would have rated it higher but wasn't here for how it ended and the development of getting to the end. Not the most well written book either. overall storyline was good and an okay read.
Not quite a 4 star read. It was a going good until the end. Her sleeping with Mitch ruined the vibes for me and him finding out and the story wrapping up within a few pages all too much especially just to close out the book 😖.

A pretty good book that had me really feeling the characters. I will never understand how zy thought was she did was smart, but in times of desperation folks can do crazy things.
