I actually have the Fourth Edition, which I can't find in GoodReads.
I found this to be a useful book, although I was disappointed based on the title versus the content. It reads more like a textbook telling the "what" of everything in the recording studio. In that it does a good job and covers a lot of ground for a short book and is quite readable.
There is a lot less of the "how" than I expected given the word Techniques in the title. I recommend this be read and then followed with the Sound on Sound Book of Recording & Production Techniques by Paul White and then Hot Tips for the Home Recording Studio by Hank Linderman for lots more practical advice.
Very informative with a practical approach to audio recording in a controlled environment. A good reference guide when something goes wrong while in a studio.
