I really love Rachel, and her friends, and the predicaments that ensue while Rachel is just trying to make decent grades, keep her scholarship, and have some hot times with a lad (or two).

And also negotiate her family- her dad's aerobics-instructor girlfriend, and her mother's bus full of New Age whackiness, completre with obscure forbodings.

I really like that mostly this series is about navigating young adulthood, with all its pitfalls, and the mystery aspects tend to be almost afterthoughts- but entertaining ones!

The mystery plot in this one is pretty obscure, and definitely not the main focus. It's fun, though! and brings out people's true characters.

I am looking forward to the next one! I just wish they were not so pricey per ebook- that's the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars.

As always with the Rachel O'Brien Chronicles I enjoyed the light-hearted mystery. Its an easy read which I sunk into and enjoyed. I enjoyed not only Rachel's story but also those of her house-mates, which I have followed since the beginning of the series. Throughout the book there were lots of reminders of past adventures to help the reader remember which I was very grateful for because there are now many central characters. A good read which I'd happily recommend to other readers, although I would suggest reading the four other books in the series first.

Fun story, but the writing seemed forced. The relationships between the roommates was almost nonexistent, and this is what makes the story. I'm going to read the next book in the series, but if it continues in the same style, it will be the last one I read.

Whew! The story of Rachael's Junior year in college did not disappoint. I'm so enjoying the Rachael O'Brien series by Paisley Ray. Rachael and her roommates find themselves in more trouble, and adding in boyfriend issues this book kept me reading long into the night. I'm moving right into the next one, Swamp Cabbage, about the summer between the Junior and Senior year but will have to wait till the next one, Praise the Lard, is published.

Johnny Cakes is the fifth in the Rachael O’Brien Chronicles. There are lots of twists and turns and surprises. Some questions are answered (like who shot Billy Ray), but others come up (like just who or what is Stone involved with). It wasn’t quite as good as some of the others in the series (it tended to drag at times), but I still recommend this book to Rachael O’Brien fans.

Paisley Ray tells a great story and I just love Rachael O'Brien. MOst of the main characters are back. As always trouble seems to follow Rachael around and this book is no exception. Can't wait for the next book in this series.

The plot was entertaining enough though I feel like Rachael's love life is getting a bit stale. She needs to meet someone new - the on-again-off-again-will-they-won't-they with the same group of guys is getting boring.

I liked it, it was rushed, even though there was an exciting plot line, it was still a bit boring. I'd like to see what is going on with Stone. She's growing up so she should be making less stupid decisions. something to make the far fetched stories a bit more plausible.
