The Caregiver’s Notebook offers caregivers a helpful and portable organization tool, as well as spiritual comfort for the challenging journey of helping a loved one. Complete with calendar, space to record emergency medical and insurance information, and pockets for notes, this conveniently sized book provides practical organizational help, comforting Scripture, and thoughtful devotionals from experts Shelly Beach, Wendy Wallace, and Jolene Philo. This easy-to-use resource can help reduce the caregiver’s stress and encourage dependence on God in difficult times. Makes an ideal gift.
This is a very good book for caregivers and for people whose lives have become complicated by medical problems. It is spiral bound and tabbed for each topic. The tabs include How to Use, Emergency Information, Calendar (three year. You fill in your own dates so the calendar starts when you start the calendar.) Contacts, Medications, Medical Information, Notes, Insurance Information, Legal Documents, Routines and Schedules, Resources, Bible Reading Plan, Prayer guides Glossary, Organization Systems. Within each tab are helpful hints on how to use the section. There is plenty of room for information, and plenty of blanks to fill in (if you chose to) and to jog your memory.
If our lives were simple we would not need this book. However, since our lives are not simple even without medical problems or being a caregiver this book is a help.
This book could have been better if it had included a tab of information for finding the right Assisted Living Facility or Adult Family Home. Also, with the ever increasing number of Veterans it would be helpful to some to have information on how to get care if you are a veteran.
The author has also conveniently posted YouTube videos on the Internet for the different chapters on how to use that chapter.
The Caregiver's notebook is not your regular planner. It is an essential tool for caregivers. Are you are caring for a child with special needs, an elderly parent or a typical newborn? If so, The Caregiver's Notebook can help you stay organized. I am so impressed by how many organizational tools are included. Not only does it hold all the important documents and information that you need to have with you at all times. It will also give you inspiration and spiritual comfort.
I appreciate that it includes a three-year calendar and that it fits in a diaper bag or a large purse. Another benefit is that each section contains instructions for use, forms for recording pertinent information and extra pages for notes. You will also find pockets in the back for insurance cards, legal documents and test results.
The journey of helping a loved one can be challenging. Throughout The Caregiver's Notebook there are scripture verses and thoughtful devotionals to inspire and comfort you. There is also a bible reading plan and prayer guides.
Being organized can help relieve stress. What a blessing in a caregiver's life! It also makes a very thoughtful gift!
The Caregiver's Notebook is a powerful organizational tool for anyone caring for another person, whether it is a child with special needs or adult with complex medical care. This book offers in one place a way to organize a variety of important information that is accessible with the flip of a tab. From medical information and important tests to legal documents, this notebook has the capaciaty to contain a wealth of information. As a parent of a child with special needs, I wish I had ths years ago simply for tracking medications that were tried and the various results. In addition to the practical organizational information, there is spiritual support as well, including a Bible reading plan and prayer guide.
An added benefit of this guide is that it reminds caregivers of the types of information they may want to track. When faced with a new diagnosis, there is a sense of, "I don't even know what I am supposed to ask." This practical organizational tool helps you understand what is important information to track while sorting through a diagnosis. I highly recommend this for folks who need to bring organization to caring for another person.
Great resource for caregivers! It can be so hard to keep everything organized and together in the midst of caring well for a loved ones with medical problems. This notebook contains sections for everything from medication lists, calendar, medical information and much more. I particularly appreciate Jolene Philo's "stress reliever tips", little suggestions on ways to make caregiving a little easier, as well as the glossary of medical and legal terms. In addition, the notebook contains a Bible reading plan and prayer guide for caregivers. This book is a much needed tool to both help caregivers get organized and to encourage them in their journey!
Jolene Philo has done an outstanding job with The Caregiver's Notebook, An Organizational Tool and Support to Help You Care for Others. As a highly experienced caregiver, Jolene has thought of everything one might need to stay organized. Additionally, she includes scripture and notations sprinkled throughout, giving this caregiver's tool a Christian focus to help encourage those who identify with the role of caregiver as a major part of their lives. I highly recommend this book to all caregivers who want to make being organized easier. Purchase it for yourself or buy for a friend, I know this book will bless many!
I would have loved something like this when I was taking care of my husband during his cancer treatment. If you are a caregiver, or know someone who is a caregiver, this book is an excellent tool for keeping track of appointments, medication, important notes and the myriad of "stuff" that can help keep things run smoothly in your busy life. The added bonus is a section of prayers and a Bible reading plan. What caregiver can't use a little help from above in their caregiving journey? Thank you, Jolene Philo, for an excellent resource.
