This book examines the role of law in the regulation of China's foreign economic relations. In separate chapters, it addresses the issues of foreign trade, foreign investment, technology transfer, finance (taxation and foreign exchange), and dispute resolution. Each chapter provides a description of the legal regime and an analysis of its performance and prospects, and concludes with a range of proposals for policy reform in each of the subject areas. Through its review of current conditions of regulation of foreign business in China and its discussion of proposals for reform, the book provides information invaluable for practitioners and policymakers alike.
