I admit to not being the biggest reader of chick lit. I prefer my books with a bit more grit but, every so often I do like to indulge in what I consider to be an easier read. Kind of a palate cleanser between the crime and gore courses!
When this book was made available for a "read to review" from the author via THE Book Club, I was just in the mood for something light to read while the sun was shining outside so I jumped at the chance and I am so glad I did.
This book was a delight to read from start to finish. It was a relatively easy read and I simply devoured in in two sittings. Pausing only to sleep, I also had to delay my supposed early shopping trip the next morning until I had finished it.
The characters were great. I especially loved the ladies from the salon! The author must have put in the hours people watching as all the characters, main and bit part, came across as so real to life - warts and all. The story moved at a good pace. Description and storyline was very well balanced and flowed well. There were also a lot of laugh out loud moments, cringing times and heart-in-my-mouth times, basically everything a reader would want from a book of this genre. I do have to admit to guessing the ending a little in advance of the reveal but that didn't distract me and tbh, it was really the only outcome the story fitted so I didn't mind at all. Also, although chick lit, the romance was tasteful and very well written. I prefer my romance subtle and not shoved down my throat so to speak!
All in all, a great, easy read for a nice summer's day. I am definitely going to peruse this author's other books so that I have something else light to read ready for when life gets a little heavy in future.
Thanks again to the author and THE Book Club for the opportunity to read this cracking book!

This book ticked all the boxes that I expect out of a chick lit book and more. I absolutely loved it!

When Love Feels Like A Pocket Full Of Snails only took me a few hours to read. It is such an easy read.

The story starts off brilliantly as we get a glimpse of Bella's working life as a junior stylist in a salon. There were quite a few bits that had me chuckling as the staff, clients and scenarios, knowing people in the industry, was just so true to life.

The storyline is very much in keeping to other chick lit books, it is sweet, funny and uplifting. I love how after reading this book you get left with that nice warm glow that you only tend to get from this genre of book.

I loved the main character Bella and the author's interpretation of Robbie, Bella's cheating, lying boyfriend, had me laughing every time I visualized him.

This is first book I have read by this author and after reading this story I know I will certainly be reading more by her, infact I have just this minute bought Sex, Lies & Corned Beef Pies.

Many thanks to The Book Club and the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Another superbly written book by this highly talented writer. Her sense of humour is extremely well developed and this shines through very brightly in her writing. Besides chuckling many times as I read this lovely story, I was also captivated with the clever use of language. A young English woman conversing with a young German woman in rural France; this might be something of a tricky conversation to decipher. Ms Ramsey does this, 'ow you Ingleesh say? splendidly! I could almost see and hear the two women chatting away to each other, such is the descriptive and vivid nature of Ms Ramsey's writing. The story itself is quite marvellous, from it's beginnings in a 'blue rinse hairdressers' in England, to a working farm in France, it flows beautifully. The characters are strong and the story builds slowly, gradually, to it's ultimately happy conclusion. Highly recommended. I look forward with anticipation to the next offering from Georgina Ramsey.

This charming novel traces the fortunes of a self-centred young wannabe who decides, for very little reason, to seek her fortune as a celebrity hairstylist in Paris. Her staggering ineptitude causes her to end up somewhere very different. I shan't say more about the actual plot for fear of spoiling.

Although the protagonist is technically adult, this is very much a 'coming of age' story and, like all Ramsey's work, written with warmth, humour and a wonderful willingness to depart from the beaten track. There's nothing 'same old' about this romance, despite its use of the age-old 'prince disguised as a frog' trope. It's original, well-written and, unlike so many 'romances' that one sees nowadays, pleasantly wholesome. I enjoyed it very much.

Readers of Ramsey's other work will not be disappointed, and new readers will no doubt clog the airwaves as they search out her backlist.

Bella's having the day from hell. Her parents have jetted off to Marbella and left a note to say she's adopted. She's also just seen her boyfriend drive past with his ex. Bella decides to go to France and become a hairdresser to the stars. However things don't go according to plan......

I don't read a lot of pure romantic stories but I thoroughly enjoyed this.

It would make a perfect summer beach read. The characters are engaging, funny and just a little over-the-top, especially Helga.

I highly recommend this book and will certainly be on the look out for more by Georgina Ramsey.

The perfect French adventure? Why missing your stop, being hopelessly lost in a strange new country and meeting a handsome farmer of course. This is a story that takes you from woes to wows. Bella learns some life changing news and decides now is the time to chase her dream of being a hair dresser to the stars. When she winds up herself lost in the French countryside what she finds is far better. I highly enjoyed reading this story and recommend everyone give it a read!

I loved this book & a big thanks to The Bookclub for my review copy. A great story about Bella who left behind her life in the UK for what she though would be a great new adventure in Paris. Typical chick lit - funny, romantic and little bit sad at times. I liked the way Bella "grew up" through the book and The relationships between Bella and the other characters.
I was lucky enough to read this free in return for submitting a review. I look forward to reading more books by the same author

This is a great easy reading chick lit. A little predictable but enjoyable nonetheless. Had pretty much worked out the storyline before I finished it and there were no great surprises. I read this in an afternoon so shows that it isn't taxing. However if someone wants a forget what's happening, easy read, worth a look.

This is an easy, amusing story about Bella, a disillusioned hairdresser. The descriptions are really good and I felt as if I was living in France on the farm! Having done just that as an exchange student a few millennia ago, it reminded me of my time in France! Good characters, funny situations and all in all an enjoyable read! Thanks to THE Book Club on Facebook for my copy.
