I am a Louisianana native who has been a quadriplegic since 1982, a further result of a car wreck that happened in 1978. I was age 12 when the car accident happened and only 15 at the time of the head injury. I was supposed to die in each accident and be a mental vegetable in 1982.
That's a detailed way of saying that I have been through the proverbial ringer, but one thing is for sure, I have never given up. I WILL never give up!
With God’s help and blessing, I have lived through these events and more. I am a survivor in the truest sense of the word.
In my early life, many activities such as community theatre, football, baseball, and a love of reading kept me very active. Science, electronics, and space were teenage passions and continue to be today.
Since my accidents, I have completed high school and studied computers at Louisiana Tech. After a haitus of independent study, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University in business management.
Writing has long been my passion. I started my first book when I was ten, I never finished, but at least I attempted it at such a young age. My first publishing came in 1996 in an e-zine named Dementia, but still didn't consider writing as an occupation. In 2013 that all changed. For the first time in my life, I was actually meetings others who wrote and that opened my eyes to the infinte possibilities that writing held. In 2013, I published the science fiction book Star Siege, which was written during my schooling at LSU.
I'm not sure why I waited until then, but it's out there now and I've had great feedback from readers. Currently, I have another novel completed, awaiting publication, and write regular articles for The Voice of Southwest Louisiana.
Having lived in the North, South, East, and as far West as Wyoming has given him the opportunity to meet and talk with a diverse group of people. I am very grateful for the experiences of such diversity. As a writer, it gives me great insight to my characters.
My wife Kelley and I have been happily married since 2005. Like most of us I suppose, I didn't think there was anyone out there that could put up with my eccentricities. She does and very well too.
