This book started with a sister-friend relationship between Tremel and Angelique, opposites but had some things in common. Their choices in men shows how they are definitely not alike, one accepts an abusive man and sexual pleasures only and other sees an old crush, wanting to make it happen. The real drama does not happen until the middle of the book...slowed down again and waiting to see how it leads to the sequel, "Adverse Intentions".
I know this author in person and used to work together at WAMU. She did pretty well with her story-telling except I was a little lost with the extra characters introduced "Tony and Alicia, baby was in an accident" and trying to see the connection with the main characters in the book. In addition, the book had many punctuation (quotes missing, periods, commas), grammar issues such as word confusion (ex. site should be sight, where should be were). She is working on updates with edits and aware of it before converting it to an e-book with publisher. I hope the sequel is better with edits.
