There's an intricate tapestry of truth and lie woven to create what is mainstream "New Orleans." Somehow this book discusses only the most banal.

Good but old and bad title

Interesting book that jumps around from a conversation at cafe du monde to the sugar industry to lists of carpenters, it's a compelling read. The title, however, is misleading as there is no examination of myths. Also, written many decades ago.

A random collection of facts, poorly written and disorganized.
