A dentist … a death … a disease … Bryan Harmon, a young American diplomat in modern day Berlin, encounters Lisa Brandt’s secret. How could he know that the savage murder of an obscure dentist in the last days of World War II would thrust them into a terrifying race against time to destroy a menace that lies beneath former German soil?
The two main characters , when they first came together, had a great deal of animosity between them, but in the blink of an eye and turn of the page, they're in the sack! It seems that all the good guys are very religious and the bad guys are atheists! The mix of the two makes for a somewhat unbelievable storyline, but there is plenty of suspense and few dull moments. The author could have made better use of an editor, as I came across several occurrences of the misuse of the word "spare". The word that should have been used was probably "sparse". If you can put my findings aside, you might find the story keeps your interest.
Overall I enjoyed this book, but at times it did drag a little for me. I preferred the political scenes for tension, rather than the scenes with the two main characters. The story was well thought out, and quite involved.
