The Children of Fatima

Rate this book
The most revealing look yet at the extraordinary Fatima phenomenon. In 1917, two little children - one nine years old, the other seven - had a series of visions that changed the world. The Blessed Virgin appeared to Francisco and Jacinta Marto and told them how sin was responsible for all the world's troubles. She also told them how devotion to her Immaculate Heart would bring the world back to God. Since then, millions have made pilgrimages to the site of the apparitions, and even non-Catholics are familiar with the story of Fatima. Yet, surprisingly, there's never before been a full-length book on these two blessed children, who started a worldwide movement. Leo Madigan has devoted his life to Fatima, and he has access to documents that aren't available to the general public. Here you'll find the story of Francisco and Jacinta and the apparitions they saw, told in a way that brings out the vital importance of Fatima for today.

Prior to starting to read this book, I had read several other books on Fatima and thought I was knowledgeable and ready for a Fatima Pilgrimage. Not so. When I started reading the book, I realized that there was so much more that I had missed. I took the book with me on my Fatima Pilgrimage for almost two weeks. I can honestly say I had ZERO time on the Pilgrmaige to read much more than a very few pages of this book which I was extremely anxious to read.

As soon as I returned, I immediately read the book! Leo Madigan is a very good author and while on my Pilgrimage I found out that he had died. He wrote a number of other very good books, and I plan to obtain as many as I can and read them. This writer has both an interesting style and also manages to find details and facts that other writers apparently do not.

This is a very important book to read for anyone interested in Fatima and the children who were there.

The faith of these children is inspiring, amazing and so beautiful. The lives of Lucia's cousins, whose lives were cut short but whose love and faith for the Blessed Mother was so strong - I only pray I am that faithful when put to the test.

a wonderful written book of Biblical history that know one talks about they should talk about this historical event on TV specials. However, not everyone knows about this event. We all need to pray more. This event "One day" a year not enough.
